Today, I installed my Blitz TT with the harness. Everything now works fine, I can use my remote to lock the doors with the timer counting down, and if i release the ebrake the car shuts off. However now I have noticed that my Airbag light is on and will not go off. I disconnected my negative battery and pumped my break hoping that would reset it and fix it. No dice. I then hooked up my accessport to look for CEL codes and none are found. So basically I'm stuck now and dont have a clue what it can be but its scaring the crap out of me. I dont want my airbag flying out in my face!!

Here are a few things we did wrong that could be leading to the problem but I doubt it. First the guide called to cut the gray wire under the center councel we did that. although it was the wrong gray wire cause it had 4 wires inside of it. So I took some wire and reattached all of them. We then cut the yellow plastic away found the gray wire inside of it and cut the gray wire inside it. Could this be the wrong gray wire and you where not supposed to cut open the yellow plastic?

Next it called to cut the Dark green / Black line. Well we just popped out the really really dark green / black line. However the remote would not work. So I looked and found another Dark Green / Black line so we popped the wrong one back in and cut the write one and now the remote works.
I choose to ground the unit to a bolt directly above the pedals only its a little forward of them and it looked like it was holding a few connectors in place. I guess it was a good ground cause the unit works just fine. Could this be my problem I choose to ground it on a bad spot???

However at this time I do not know what I have jacked up and am pretty worried. All advice is welcome. Please help!

You cut a wire inside the yellow tubing? That is your problem. Airbag wiring is always marked with yellow tubing, tape etc. to make it stand out so you leave it alone. By doing what you did you have compromised the integrity of the airbag system.
Before undertaking any wiring on your car you must know exactly what you are doing, there is no room for guesswork as you now know. If you had obtained and read the wiring manual for your car beforehand you would have had all the information you need to avoid problems such as this.

So you are saying go back and fix the gray wire we cut?

At the very least, yes. As I said if it's inside a yellow tube it's part of the airbag system and that's why the light is on. Reconnect it properly (solder/heat shrink), and securely tape the tubing where you cut it. Before you do this disconnect the battery and wait several minutes before proceeding, to avoid accidental airbag deployment. If you reconnect it properly the airbag light should go out. If for some reason the light does not go out you can take it to the dealer for repair but once they see what you did they will charge you for the repair and any warranty for the airbag system will likely be void.
And before you go any further get the wiring manual.

Ahh, thanks for all the help. And thanks for doing a good job of scaring me so I dont go off and just cut the hell out of stuff.

Good, then I've done my job. ;)
Seriously, it's a $25K car with a fairly complicated electrical system. You don't want to go in there hacking away without the proper knowledge and info. I wish I had $1 for every post I've seen like yours, I could retire. :)

Yea and definitely do what Mulder said about waiting a few minutes before proceeding. You don't want to deploy the airbag and rip your seat seams to shreds, among other things.

Ahhh. Took the ole soldering iron down today, patched the gray wire we had cut back up so it was looking all nice. Took some nice gray shrink wrap and covered the whole wire. Then took some nice yellow tape to put back over what I had removed and fixed it all up nice. Proud to report no more airbag light and the car is running perfect :) And now I can finally get some rest hehe! Thanks for all the help guys.

Moral of the story: DON'T ANYBODY TOUCH YELLOW-CLAD WIRING IN YOUR CAR. Stay away from modules, wires (sometimes they are under your seat for side impact bags,) or sensors. Don't undo any connectors with the battery connected! Always disconnect the battery and wait. Airbags can even deploy shortly after power loss. There are also sensors behind your bumpers. So if you're installing FMI, or other things that require removing bumpers, don't touch Yellow.
