Any pyro gauge that goes higher than 1600? From what I've read our cars can get higher than that. I bought an Autometer that goes to 1600, but thought there might be something that wouldn't top out all the time.

Legacy777 10-06-2004, 09:58 PM Are you looking for a permanent one, or one to just check temps? I would think you'd be able to find an infrared one that can read that high. But what the hell are you wanting to measure that high on your car? I'd like to know where you're going to see those kind of temps on a street car without severely shortening the lifespan of the part and those around it. cnk 10-06-2004, 10:48 PM Greddy gauges run to 1200C ~ 2192F. However, if you're running more then 900C ~ 1600F, you're engine isn't going to last long. Calvin Imprezanator 10-06-2004, 11:12 PM Oh, Ok. I must have misunderstood some post I read. Cool, now I don't have to buy anything else. Just so I know, what is normal EGT range? I took out 2 cats, have headers, reflashed ECU, etc. So does bigger turbo naturally raise EGTs? Thanks. cnk 10-06-2004, 11:45 PM It varies, but usually cruising along on the highway, it will be around 700C. If I push it, it gets to right around 800C. This is with a Vishnu Stage 2 w/VF34 and FMIC. Calvin Irishman 10-07-2004, 11:39 AM Yeah I thought that over 1600 was a bad thing. I was a little scared for a minute when I read that. |
