Do you keep yours on in the winter?

I've found myself coming exteremely close to running over them while backing up on soggy grass or mud. I really don't want my rear bumper or sideskirts to get torn off this winter, so how do you combat this problem?

I can't count the number of times I've backed up over mine, back when I had an Imprezas. I used screws with smaller heads so the flaps would break away easier rather than damaging something else.

Don't let the wife back up the car then. Mine ripped her rear quarterpanel down with the mudflaps when she backed up a snowberm.

I had to get a car that accepted factory flaps

You can modify the factory mudflaps to work on a WRX, not sure on the RS though. Yukon1 had the factory flaps on my old WRX. Not quite as much protection as the other style, but no worries about ripping them out.

thought my mudflaps would protect the paint better....guess i was wrong...still quite a bit of rockchips all over the side of the car....

I am going to run them all year, I would only take them off in the winter if I was going to. I use them for rally-x and for countless trips to valdez and back.

What kind are you using?

You may have to get some that stick out a bit (rally style),

I keep mine on all year:

We're both using the same, they are even more aggressive than those ones.

My fronts could be stuck out even more, AK_2002_WRX's are like my rears.

Very nice car btw. I'd kill for a rally blue pearl.

Yeah it took me a long time to find it...
