No kidding.

Add the turbo engine, and that's exactly what I want.

It's called the 2005 Forester XT ;)

Am I in a time warp? The X SE is the same as the US spec XS. And the LL Bean is also the same (XS Premium + load leveling + two-tone).

I like the self-leveling rear suspension; love to see that as an option in other Subies.

I wonder how many Canadians have even heard of LL Bean. As far as I know they don't sell up there. I grew up in Ontario and only heard of LL Bean when I moved to MA. They should have called it the MEC edition instead.

No, its $36,595 Cdn, which is about $25k US.

How about a Crappy Tire edition? Probably more Canadians know about Crappy Tire than MEC?

 I used to call it that too!

(For the Muricans who don't get it, "Crappy Tire" = Canadian Tire, a big chain that sells gas, car parts, and assorted other stuff.)

LL Bean sells worldwide, including Canada. I've been buying stuff off and on from them for 10+ years now.

It IS a separate option now. You used to have to get the premium package (leather, sunroof, etc). Now you can order just the sunroof - I believe it's ~$1,000 (US).

Whoa - are you sure? This is the first I've heard of it.

Maybe the dealership offered you an aftermarket sunroof...

No. It's a specific change because people wanted the sunroof but not leather (or didn't want to pay for leather).

My 2004 XT could only be ordered with a sunroof if you paid for the Premium package.

The 2005 XT can now be ordered with a sunroof as a separate option.

Wow. That's cool - I'll have to look into it. Edmunds.com doesn't list it as an option, nor does subaru.com...

No, the X SE is just an X (black bumpers) with a sunroof, heated seats, etc. The XS, which we also have, adds painted bumpers, auto climate control, upgraded interior, rear discs, LSD, etc.
