I am buying Rota 17" 7.5 SDR rims for my 02 wrx. I will be using stock wheels & tires for winster. So some questions about the summer tires:
1. first of all will this fit no problem?
2. what color do you like most; Silver, or Steel grey?
Silver- http://www.subydude.com/parts/details.php?7171038
Steel Grey- http://www.subydude.com/parts/details.php?7171034
3. What size tires are best?
4. which tires for summer are best for comfort, saftey & performance? (recomendation, preferable not expensive :p )
Thanks.

I went with and will keep my 15" Steel wheels and Tires. I have the plastic hubcaps and when I want to change their look I buy a new set of plastic hubcaps 4 for $20.
17" Wheels and Tires will cost you $$$$. Good summer tires and winter tires will cost you $$$. Using RE92's in winter is dumb. Buy a good set of blizzaks. What are you using for a spare? Get a full sized tire, but make sure it fits your summer and winter wheel and tire size. The little donuts do not as such anytime you use it you need to disable your AWD.
For the time and money you should just get Tires and use them on your rims. You're going to be likely going to a shop to have them put on anyway you might as well have one set of rims and a proper spare.

I am assuming this is the best place to post this without starting a whole new thread if not please tell me where to go. (and no to hell is not the answer I am looking for hehehe)
I am looking at getting a 2005 STi after the first of the year and I was wondering how useless are the tires in the rain?
Yes I understand they are "summer only" tires and they have very little tread.
I live in So.Cal. where rain is seldom at best and snow unless I go to the mountans is not an issue.
Is aqua planning the only problem with these tires or is it the fact that the comnpound is worthless on wet asphalt?
Any help would be appreciated.

I live in Florida, where it rains, and rains, and rains, and haven't had a problem with the stock 070s, none, nada. I think the "real bad in wet" talk is overblown.
Granted, I'm not pushing the car in the rain like I would on dry pavement( I wouldn't do this with ANY tire on the car) but the 070s are just fine if you know your limits. Since you're in SoCal I doubt you'll ever have to deal with any serious wet weather so don't worry about the stockers, they're more than adequate.
