Hey,

I am about to order the BF Goodrich KDWS tires in the 205 55 16 size from Sams club. I talked with the tire tech and he said that they don't have the road force balancer machine. Sams is by far the cheapest place for the total package, its only $10 per wheel for mount, balance, stems, disposal, etc. Tires are $99.18 each with shipping included. Sounds like a good deal, but the balancing concerns me. I just don't want to have to take it somewhere else to have the road force balance done. I'm not even sure if any tire place around here has the capability to balance them this way. Do you think it's worth it for the road force, or just wait and see how the balance turns out from Sams?

With those low prices get them mounted and balanced at Sams and if they don't come out right take them to another shop and pay the $30 to get a good balancing. I had to do that when I got my T1-S's balanced at BJ's Wholesale club. They just couldn't get them right after 3 times of trying. Only cost me $12 for mount balance and stems though so I didn't mind paying an extra $30 for a good balance.

If you call the Tire Rack, they can tell you what balancing machines your local installation shops have, as long as they are 'recommended installers'. Road Force balancing is the best. I even had my snows balanced this way.

www.hunter.com

just look under "locate a GSP9700"

The end result is ONLY as good as the tech who uses the machine. Just because they have one, doesn't mean they have a proficient operator. Just watch and make sure for yourself.
