What's the best way of acquiring a shop manual for a 2005 Legacy GT?

I looked at the Subaru tech info site, and by the time you have added up all the pieces, the total price is horrendous. As a comparison, I bought the full set (3 encyclopedic tomes) for my Chevy C5 for $90.

It's only about $20 flat fee for 72 hours access to the tech info site (the prices listed there are if you want them to send you individual paper docs, I believe).
Online discount Subaru dealers like www.subaruwrxparts.com, www.allsubaru.com, etc., will sell you the multi-volume (I think my Impreza set had 8) paperbound set of service manuals (you can even pick and choose if you don't want all vols). It'll probably run you $200-250 for all of them by this method.

$20 for 72 hour pass to download manuals. I heard they limit the # of downloads per hour but when I got my service manuals they didn't do that. Took a couple of days to get all the downloads done, but I have the full service manual set. Not big files to download, just alot of them.

Also there is a sticky with the link above your post.
