Just as the title says: 2005 WRX wheels do not clear 4pots.

After searching, I took few minutes to find out myself. 16/6.5 from the new WRX will not work. Tried to put them on and they sit right against the caliper.
A damn shame becouse they look so good on a GC6.

If the information is out there, then there is another conformation that can be easily searched for.

Put on some 5mm spacers for a temp fix.

I thought that the older WRX wheels didn't either because they're all 16x6.5

No 16' inch wheel will clear the Brembos....well.....Not correctly at least ....without gnarly offset...

True, but this thread isn't about the Brembos. It's is about the FHI 4-pot brakes that say Subaru on them. There are 16" wheels that do fit those. You know, these (apologies to subaruxtras.com for hotlinking the pic):

Yeah....a 5mm spacer should allow the use of those wheels...it works with the '02-'04's...

The way he puts it, makes me wonder if these are really safe and reliable.

5mm spacers are fine as long as you don't mind the extra unsprung weight.

The spacers weigh nothing. The problem is that you have 5mm less threads for your lugs.

...as long as you get 6 FULL turns on the lugs before they touch the wheel, It's all good.....less than 6 full turns, ya need longer studs.

I put 3mm spacers to get my 18x8" SSR comps to clear the front coilovers. Is an 02 wagon though with G.year gs d3's.

2005 WRX wheels do not clear 4pots.

DAMN!!! And they would have looked so very awsome with 05 wheels :(

3mm will do it, plenty of thread engagement- effectively puts your offset to 52mm well within acceptable levels.

Does anyone have a picture of the brakes/spacer and 2005 wrx wheels? I would love to see how it looks.

Thanks.

Its not the wheel size and width its the contour and shape of the wheel spokes that determine caliper clearance.

Big Sky - Do you have this set up? I am planning to use the stock wheels for winter and was wondering if the use of spacers will cause any problems.

Just stumbled upon this thread. Very interesting! Pics anyone? ::bump:: :D

I just bought 4-pot front/2-pot rears for my car. I guess I will try to use my old stock WRX wheel and tire as a spare. I currently am on 17" x 7" Prodrive P1s with 215/45R-17 Bridgestone Potenza S-03s (the next tires I plan on getting after these wear out will be Pirelli PZero Nero M+S).

God bless,
Loren

I ending up buying a 2004 STi spare from Jamie with part numbers I found on another thread. $225.00 or so.

God bless,
