I WANT TO KNOW WHICH TIRE IS BEST FOR SUMMER STREET ONLY! I DONT WANT EVERY1's WHOLE TIRE STORY AND ALL THE HORSEPOOP! KEEP IT SIMPLE FOR STREET PERFORMACE ONLY, MONEY AINT A PROBLEM! JUST TYPE THE TIRE U PREFER

AND BY THE WAY, STI DRIVERS ONLY!

I vote for:

1) doesn't matter, so go with the one that'll make you think you're faster; you're only using them for the street and the performance differences between any of the summer-only tires is going to be so slight you're unlikely to notice the difference.

2) YOU'RE SHOUTING, and that ain't polite.

3) if $ no issue and only for summer, then get the g-Force T/A KD or Pilot Sport PS2. Or if $ truly doesn't matter, then get an R and really show the world what you've got: Dunlop SP Super Sport Race, Kumho ECSTA V700/VictoRacer V700, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup, etc.

and

4) Survey says... (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/surveydisplay.jsp?type=MP)

Oh wait what tire? um Get the MXs they get better when they get hotter the Azenis get greasy. You might try to cram 245/40R17s on your stock rims. If the size has to be 225/45R17 I would probably take the stock RE070s as the performance dif is negligable then and the RE070 was designed for the Subaru.

I drove both MX and I am on 070 now (haven't driven Azenis)

So, 070 advantages/ MX disadvantages:

070 are grippier, more responsive, less prone to tramlining (but still will follow grooves)

MX advantages/ 070 disadvantages:

last longer, cost less, quieter, better grip in wet coditions (but not by much).

Personally, I would buy neither; after 070 are worn my next set will be Toyo T1-S or T1-R.

PS yes, please don't limit your request to STi drivers - it is both rude (you could've asked instead that you especially want to hear opinion of STi-er) and not smart (there is a good chance that some non-STi drivers might've driven all three tires...)

Seriously... "STI DRIVERS ONLY!" ? You think STi people are the only ones that know about tires? Kindly remove your crainial extremity from your anal cavity....

Honestly I think some Federals would suit you well....

I hear the Nankang tires that you get from Wheelmax are the best tire available.

buy all three and extra rims in ever different colour so you can change them to suit your decor.

Bigrockinthemiddleoftheroad Performance is where I got my Tires. They are the absolute SICKEST summer tires ever. Bigrockinthemiddleoftheroad hooked me up too, what a good deal.
I'd tell this guy all about it, but I only drive a PoS WRX, so what do I know?

My personal experience:

Kumho MX
- more comfortable
- wear better with agressive alignment for street use
- good grip
- some tramlining

Falken Azenis Sport
- noisy & harsh
- don't wear as well with agressive camber when used on the street
- best grip
- more tramlining

RE 070
- no idea, haven't tried them, I'd think they'd be more like an Azenis than the MX

It's up to you which is more important, better road manners for a little less grip, or top notch grip with less road manners

Personally I like them BF Goodrich Mud Terrain for all season handling. Great on gravel roads for some drifting fun.
