I added a 10" L7 and now the trunk lid won't stop rattling everytime the bass hits. I've tried to add non-permanent stuff to cushion it, but just doesn't work (or look good). It's not even turned up that hard, either. Just loud enough to hear to know I'm comin...
Anyone have a tip on how to do this and make it look decent?

RAAMAT. Do a search for it and you should get alot of topics on purchasing and install. I installed it and couldnt have made a better purchase. I placed it in the entire floor of the trunk, under the spare and in the lip of the trunk to cover the eight or so spaces. I also installed it under the rear deck lid, and rear seats. I did not have enough to cover the 4 doors but I did do the front doors. Make sure you order ensolite as well. I placed this in the front doors and over the RAAMAT under the rear seat and it quieted down the exhaust tremendously. I can upload some pics of the trunk if you like. Total install was like 8 hours but well worth the time. 60 feet of RAAMAT, ensolite, and adhesive glue was lot $115.00 shipped.

dudragon and neushane,
I guess I knew about Dynamat and the other deadening mats out there, but I guess I didn't know that you could apply it to the lip of the trunk to make it stop rattling. Did you add it to the lip of the trunk or to the actual top of the trunk?
Do you know the best kind of deadening material out there, or are they all pretty much the same? Cost is always a factor...

it should be applied to the whole trunk, that would do the job. at least the way your supposed to.

Itz not visible, you strip your trunk and apply it to the metal, then you replace all the upholstery to cover it up. But you will see it on the trunk lid - no upholstery there.

If money is an issue get some fatmat. It's thinner than Dynamat but much stickier an about a third of the price.

Hey,
I'm doing my stage 4 install and I need to take everthing out of the trunk to get to the fuel pump. I have the lid dynamatted but the rear bumper area still rattles like hell. It sounds like crap outside of the car. Would dynamatting the floor of the trunk help at all? Maybe dynamat and then some carpet padding? How much more weight would this add too?
Thanks,
Mike

not much weight reduction..someone else dynamatted the entire car...not more than 50lbs for the whole car.

What's the best way to stop the rear bumper area from rattling?
Thanks,
Mike
