Hey Guys,

When I picked up my car I was told to make sure my IC spray tank was bone dry before it froze. Seems logical as water in the lines might burst.

Are ya'll planning in driving your cars with the I/C Tank light on all winter or what?

the dealer where i got mine told me to keep a little bit in, but do NOT fill it up

I still wonder which route would be the best (empty or near empty)

anyone ever have a line freeze on them?

Yeah, I more worried about the lines than the tank.

i have seen the entire system freeze solid, didn't hurt a thing.

put window washer fluid in there... the alcohol in it would sprat the intercool and give an even cooler charge than plain water.

im prety sure, correct me if im wrong, or for soem reason can you only put water in it?

of course subaru says no, but it's probably to reduce staining/icing complaints from winter or washer solvent use. Also, winshield washer solvent is flammable, that probably has a lot to do with it. They're not going to endorse you spraying anything flammable anywhere lol.

I found a pic of usdm intercooler spray bottle, it is much smaller than the one I posted above. So that is some kinda jdm part. It looks to me like it goes into the bumper/fender like a lot of other cars. The usdm one is small and bolts right to the trunk floor. I left my camera a work or else the pic would be here.

i dunno, ever leave a water bottle in your car after it snows? The whole IC system freezing over makes me nervous...but i guess we shall wait and see what another winter brings.
