I work in Leesburg so I have the pleasure of blasting through Belmont Ridge and Landsdowne 4 times a week. Blaster88, SkToBe and myself did a turbo install on Blaster's car for about 2k and the other 5oo would provide you some extra goodies like a J&S or a SAFC or something similar. The basics are: RB5 turbo @ 5~8 psi Air to Water IC RRFPR Legacy Xmember High flow fuel pump EGT and Boost guage K&N cone filter MBC Water pump tubes, hoses etc. HP 210 to 250 depending on tune and PSI setting rhdude 06-24-2001, 02:49 PM yeah my goal was 250hp. if you can help me when i do decide to get it(2months) then i woudl love it. can you guys install these things? i woudl also be getting a stromung exhaust at the same time if it was $2k . Where did you get all the parts? i_want_one 06-24-2001, 07:40 PM 2 grand? I thought I was looking at like 6 grand to do it with some reliability for a rallispec kit. I to would be interested in this. I was looking to get a Stromung exhaust, headers and all that would bring me out to 1500 with short shifter and new tires and I would still have 3500 left on the credit card for some more goodies. And give me the power I was looking for. SubaFastR 06-24-2001, 08:28 PM I'd happily sell you an entire JDM Legacy Turbo motor. It has the water intercooler, turbo, up-pipe, and all. To put this stuff on your car, you would only need to get a cross member, or modify yours. The motor is a true long block. The block is the closed deck version. I believe a tubo rebuild kit is around $150 from Turbo City. You can have the whole motor for $1000. Many people have used the turbo equipment from Legacy turbos sucsessfully. Pipercub 06-25-2001, 01:08 AM The turbo setup that Blaster is using is, for the most part, the Legacy turbo. That turbo is a fine match for the EJ25 and it spools up at a very low RPM. The critics of that turbo will make the claim that it runs out of juice at 12 PSI or so and can't support more than that. Assuming you son't plan on going above 10 who cares if it poops out at 12? What is the sense in having a larger slower spooling turbo that can go to 22 if you are using it at 8PSI ? rhdude 06-25-2001, 09:48 AM well i am using the stock tranny so should'nt i stop at 5psi? is it ok to be going turbo on an auto? how hard would it be to convert to a 5spd? also what about a BOV and timer? |
