Ok.... I need some help choosing tyres.....
the ones I'm thinking right now are....
P-zero Nero
Kumho ASX
Conti Xtreme sport....
And I was thinking of purchasing them thru Volco Tyres..
I'm mainly just going to use them through winter on my stock wheels and use them starting sometime next week through till start of summer when I'm gonna use my summer tyres.... any suggestions? I already took a look at ratings at tirerack and stuff.... but I'd rather get some feedback from locals. Oh, and I'll probably take my car up to the mountains for snowboarding so please help...

I can get it cheapaaa laaaaa.
Or you can even ask Johnny @ OK Tire. I know for a fact I can get those cheaper than Volco.
PM me with what you choose ;)

i just picked up some nokian hakka RSi's, but that is prolly a little much for just the occasional trip to the mountain.
i have had some good success with the hankook zovac's in the past and they are fairly priced usually too.

why does everyone go to volco, when bender at ok tire sells for much cheaper? :(
the contiextremecontacts were quite a surprise in the snow. i was doing donuts all day and was amazed at their grip (for an a/s performance tire) in the bcit parking lots last winter thru ice and packed snow until security chased me away :p
but if u are going to head up to the hills, a dedicated snow tire is the only way to go.
the p-zero nero has a reputation for tramlining, which i hate, so i didn't get them when i was looking for tires.
ask bender about the kumho asx.
i'm on falken ze-512's right now, which is supposed to have good winter peformance... but i gotta wait for everything to freeze before finding out for myself :o

living in kamloops, i need a proper winter tire anyways, but from what i heard, the 512 is crappy in snow. but it should be good enough for the odd snowfall on the coast :D

I highly recommand dealing with fuka. He give great comments and his price is really fair.

i have got Kumho ASX on my family's 05 Legacy Wagon...
i was choosing between that and P-Zero Nero...in which i have just got a set of 225/40R1 + 255/35R18 for my friend's SLK...traction wise i think they work about the same...it's a little bit harder to compare 225/45R17 on a Legacy and lower profile on the SLK when it comes to a corner (suspension, body weight everything is diff)
but overall...i am happy w/ the ASX...it's quite a bit cheaper than P-Zero Nero and if 16s...i like SP5000 more than P-Zero Nero for the price...i've just got another set of 225/45R17 for my friend's Jetta 1.8T...
could't wait and try out its performance on the SNOW...:D
