I have 04 STI and I want to dumb down the engine so to speak. i was going to make it a sleeper because I was going to drop in a 1.8 liter DOHC VTEC engine. The reason for this is because A. It has never been done and B. Hondas have VTEC!!!! I also plan on making it fully rearwheel by using an S2000 drivetrain layout!!!!! C. Hondas can redline to 9 Grand, lets see an STI rev to that, so what do you guys think? :banana:

I'm also using a full standalone engine management system and plan to build the motor to rev all the way up to 10k.

STI doesnt need to rev at 9K. itll make 300hp at 6000rpm and 300 Lb/FT at 4000rpm.

Yeah, V-TEC!!! That'll sure spank a car making 300hp. I think it would make more sense to buy a Justy, and do this. That would be one hell of a sleeper. BTW, for your information, the STI would spank an S2000. At least in a straight line, or on a dirt road. Heck, maybe even on a track, if the driver was worth his salt.

Why buy an AWD subaru if your gonna make the dam thing RWD and HONDA. #2 its a heavy ass car so no matter what you do its gonna be slower then ****. #3 I hope you have a lot of money because you certainly don't have the brains to do it yourself.

We dyno'd an S2000 this weekend w/ intake and exhaust and it put down
241hp and ~160Torque and it twisted to 9K.And the S2000 is a 2.2L( I believe) and you want to build a motor w/ .4 liters less?!!!? That torque # will barley get an Sti moving, much less...ahhh, why do I even bother?!

they do make head upgrades THAT DO REV to 9k rpm. that may require new pistons and balancing also tho.

ooohhhhhh i got a 9k rpm and makes about 230 crank hp..... i bet it will whip your 7k rpm 300 hp (easily raised) car.. not to mention awd.

my legs make more torque after i drink water than an s2000 does at 8800...

I suggest turbo'ing the STi. Lots of great kits out there, and it's reliable!
