This one had a super charger on it too. I believe it was done by the former tuner PDM http://www.main.experiencetherave.com:8080/subaru/images/legacywsvxengine.jpg Where did you get this? And do you have anymore info on it? Are you talking about Joel Cox? PDM in Denver? billyr2.5 11-30-2004, 10:49 PM and do you know witch would be better for the eg33: a turbo or the super charger? Chi_San 12-01-2004, 07:26 PM Depends. Both the Super and Turbo have strong points and weak points. The Supercharger provides boost even when way low in the RPM band, but it also doesn't provide full boost until close to redline (if you set it up proplerly, that is). The turbo wouldn't provide boost until it spooled up. The spool up point varies between different setups. Either way, you're looking at some expensive mods. The only tranny that would be capable of holding the amount of power a turboed EG33 would put out that I know of would be the STi 6 speed manual, and those ain't cheap. On top of that, you'll need to upgrade the fuel delivery system, get an intake manifold, exhaust manifold, upgrade the valvetrain, and invest in Engine Management. This could cost you more than a brand new STi when it's all said and done. :p billyr2.5 12-01-2004, 11:46 PM shiat! :D Kevin Thomas 12-04-2004, 10:29 AM Dang it! I remember that pic from long ago. I have it on my hard drive. However, I can't find the video I have of the wagon with that SVX engine in it. It was a short video simply showing the wagon being driving into JC Sport's garage I believe. You could here the supercharger whine as it was pulling in. Nothing spectacular but you just knew it was drivable (or at least driven). billyr2.5 12-04-2004, 05:52 PM sweet! how hard was it to get it runnin? billyr2.5 12-14-2004, 01:36 AM todd pm'd you wrxsubaru 12-15-2004, 03:21 PM and do you know witch would be better for the eg33: a turbo or the super charger? The eg33 runs a 10.1 to 1 compresion ratio so alot of bost on stock compents is hard to acomplish. There is a turbo kit from forced air, but i only have heard terrible coments from the only person who bought it. There are a couple of home made turbos, ones just getting finished up, with a subaru 5spd behind it, hes running around 5PSI. There is a twin scroll supercharger kit that is soming out the for the EG33 which should include fuel upgrades and a remaped ecu for the super charger, but its going to cost about 6K, but bump the hp to around 400. If you want more info on the eg33, post on www.subaru-svx.net billyr2.5 12-16-2004, 05:25 AM koo! thanx |
