Hey guys. I am preparing to install my V6 Type RA tranny and R180 rear diff with 4.44 ratio. I need to know if I will need to get my EcuTek retuned now that the stock WRX tranny isnt in there, and the gears are different. Thanks so much in advance. -Tony

I can't think of any reason you'd need to.

Because at a given rpm with a given maf voltage there will be less load on the engine with shorter gears. It would probably be ok to add a few percent to your timing in high load areas if ya can(with a deltadash), but you shouldn't need to retune. As always, this is just my opinion....

can anyone be certain before I take my car out and romp on it?

No retune needed for gear ratios--same effect as uphill/downhill or weight/load variables.

It will be fine unless you want to change something to work differently with your new tranny.
