Sup all my dp came in yesterday. Its a used pde dp. Should I buy new gaskets before installing it? or will it be ok re-using the ones I already have? I have a little over 3k miles on my car. Any info would be appreciated.

the downpipe gasket should still be ok...does the PDE use the doughnut or a normal flat gasket when connecting to the cat back? you should be ok with the gaskets on now.... we reused the DP gasket on my old car like 3 times...

it's possible to reuse the gaskets but if u wanna be sure that u don't have an exh leak then i'd go with new gaskets...money for the gaskets saves u time on doing the install again if u have a leak...

thanks for the info fellas, it uses a donut gasket to connect to the catback.

I always replace gaskets once they've been torqued, but the gaskets I took off at about 3,000 miles also were like new. In fact I gave them away so someone could use them! but I will continue to replace gaskets on my own car whenever they come off. ;)

Also, all this gasket replacing theory really only applies to the steel and fiber/composite types. The donut gasket is different and reusable many times.

While on this subject, I need a downpipe, and 2 3" quality gaskets for my downpipe/catback/midpipe setup. Anyone know where I can get a set locally or...?

I don't think you are going to like this but I hit it up all the auto parts store for 3" gaskets for my APS TBE and couldn't find any. My only option was to buy a sq foot of mr. gasket header gasket material and cut my own. Sucked cutting the gasket but it worked and I have no leaks. I know suby dude has 3" exhaust gaskets on his site, might want to try there.

edit, here is the link. Exhaust Gasket (http://www.subydude.com/parts/details.php?605)

Also remember, not all 3" gaskets are alike, so this may or may not work.

Take offs for catback or for the DP? I need one for the DP and 2 for my 3" exhaust if you have an extra one laying around Jerry.
