OK i am new to bov's, and am wondering where to adjust the screw in the center of the greddy type s. I have it in the middle now, and everything works but I am hearing a rattle from the turbo or airbox area on light throttle actuation of the bov. Is this wastgate flutter? what causes that?? this being a plumb-back bov I though there would be no side-effects...
Also, the second port is a vent for the atmospheric side of the diaphram, i think, but it makes a horrible screaching sound under boost, unless that's a leak somewhere. Is it normal to have a squal/screech under boost?
Thanks for any help

its turbo flutter....turbine being forced to stop spinning or spin backwards....have you loosened up the nut on top of the bov and used the allen wrench or whatever to loosen the bov up a littl more?

the greddy type-s has a very unique sound to it. it should sound like a squeal or wierd whistle. it wont sound like the "meat grinder" that i have. re-venting the type-s is the way to go for sure if you're gonna vent atmospherically, tighten the top adjustment screw all the way done and loosen it up more and more until you get to the desired blow off point you want. this is what has worked for me with that BOV.

ok, the whistle must be normal because it is consistant and comes from the vent tube which is probably designed to whistle. I finally got it working well, just needed to fine tune it. It was too tight, as I kept loosening it and finally everything works normal except for the louder dump and annoying whistle. I have had no driveability issues and engine seems to decelerate between shifts faster, especially at high boost. So it's a success so far... but I think I will run a vacuum hose from that nipple to elsewhere so it doesn't squeal so loud. wish i didn't have to cut my plumb back hose to install... time to upgrade to silicon i guess.
thanks for all the pointers guys, funny how a guy can fix cars for years and be clueless on something like this :D
