That was me this afternoon with Stephen @ Specialty. Nice car Sandy, just needed a little tidying up. Micro-economics in your back seat too :P I went to get the trunk light set this afternoon and was a pleasure meeting both of you. Guess I'll see you guys in the big meet.

First visit to Specialty, Stephen was really nice, too bad I would still have to go to Don Docksteader for my services for a while coz I bought the car from them and had an accident. They recommended the repair shop to me (Docksteader Collision) and the dealership is backing up the repair shop with whatever further problem that's being discovered. Indeed, I do have some good word about DD also. My car overheated 2 months after they repaired it and check engine light went on. Took it back to dealership, a blown headgasket and a cylinder needed replacement. Don Docksteader service guys took the engine apart and checked everything, have it all fixed but engine light still there. In a weeks time I visited the dealership 3 times and replaced a spark plug wire, coilpack and fuel injector. They charged the repair shop for the headgasket and cylinder (~1500CAD) and warranteed the rest. Every single visit I was able to get my car back on the same day. Very efficient. (Only for the coilpack I had to leave me car overnight and they offered a courtesy car) As much as I liked Specialty, I would still want to stick with DD for a little longer untill all the hidden problems are discovered, mainly because the service people in DD knows what's going on with the car and I really don't want to bring all those troubles to Specialty. But I'm sure I'll go to Specialty for parts coz price is much better and they do have more stock as I last checked with the items I wanted. My car is running fine now, just gonna do the mods slowly coz my pay check sucks! hehe..

OMG u have to go to Docksteader Collision?? that is the WORST place u can go..

i had to wait for 6 weeks for a crappy RE92.
and they did a horrible job painting my bumper.. u could see all the cracks and bubbles.. almost like they never even let it dry and put a towell ontop of it. And they oversprayed onto my fog lights.

pathetic...

Umm...it was a guy that I saw in the RBP. That wasn't you...was it Sandy?? You looked different the last time I saw you. More like...a girl...with loose socks.

I havn't got introduced to him but I think he could be the Chinese guy with his hair gold highlighted? He was taking a smoke break outside.. Actually Stephen did tell me that's your car and he also showed me his. It's a little too hardcored pulling out all the airbags but I kinnda like his seats. He let me sat into it but it was kind of wierd feeling, may be it was my first time sitting in a true racing seat, I think it's a little too tight for me plus getting in and out would be a little tuff for me since I'm 6'2" :/
BTW, I did made Docksteader repainted my fenders and doors twice. I liked the guy who fixed my car with his great service tough.

I'm also 6'2" and felt a little tight in the seat. But I think when you are sliding around a dirt corner you would appreciate the tightness. Love that steering wheel too.

I'd love to have those seats but I like convience and comfort in my daily driver, that's why I got a seden at the first place.. Now, only if those seat could be easily exchanged so I could have fun in them once in a while (OH, forgot my sucky paycheck since those seats are ~650 each + mounts and everything would break my bank!)

oh... the chinese guy smoking was not Rudypoo, it was the guy I went w/, his name is Andrew.

and.... that's not me tora, I don't have yellow iclub sticker and I went there around 3 something not 2 :)

oh, then he must be the quiet guy who was sitting in the waiting room then... BTW, what's the purpose of your visits to Specialty? I was looking for 2 trunk light kits (one for myself and one for my cousin) and also a forrester dual cup holder, I called in the morning and there was one. But apparently somebody else got it during the day! Could it be one of you guys who took it? Now I need to wait for the order to come in this week.

so who was that guy w/ yellow i club stickers?

hehe...better hands up for this....

i once have a race seat in my car for about 6 weeks....borrowed from my friend who has done the Civic Type R conversion....it really had great support when i go around the corner....i meant u can do every step much better in those seats rather than the stock "sofa".....hehe....

Though I'd like to have a nice grip on the seats, 95% of the time I drive under 60km/h and I spend a lot of my time crusing in Standley park (obviously I do stop at the lots to enjoy the beautiful scenes there) with that seat I wouldn't be able to lean myself back just to enjoy my time in my baby!

My purpose? My friend was going there to fix something on his car, so I just went w/ him...... though he didn't get it fixed today :D

i think the yellow iclub sticker guy is Rudypoo......

OK, OK, that mysterious guy was me. hehe...nice seeing you guys at Specialty.

Waved at a person when I first pulled into the lot...that would be tora? Then said "hi" when I was standing outside having a smoke and looking at your car...that would be Piusma ?

Yah...it was like a mini meet there today. I went in with Rudypoo to get his 24k service. I will be back there on Wednesday again. Stephen owes me a car wash from my last tune up. I will be back to bug him about it. I didn't get a chance to ask him today. He was too busy today. The service department was packed with so many people.

Too bad we didn't get to talk all that much. But hey, that's what the big meet is for. :) I will see you guys at the meet, or whoever is going to Specialty on Wednesday. Rudypoo and I should be there around 12 or 1.

nice meeting you Wrx31, yeah, that was me whom you greeted while you took your smoke break :) I might see you again on Wed since I have a cup holder on order, not sure if it'll get there by Wed. But if it does, we could talk a little more over there!

I got my car at Don Docksteader too....and I get it serviced there regularly...I think they are great...their customer service is great...and when I went back for little parts and stuff...small stuff they just gave me for free...and didn't charge me..so that was cool

Piusma
06-26-2001, 07:26 PM
Yeah, I got my locking gas cap from them for free, they're some nice people to deal with also, but they just don't love imprezas as much as we do! hehe..

Tora, it was nice to meet you too.
Piusma, too bad I didn't get chance to meet you. Guess I was immersed in the literature that was in the waiting room.

Piusma: how come u can get the locking gas cap for FREE?

we were back for sth under warranty and u know what?! they have messed up the order and ordered sth else (two parts ordered: 1st time only one comes in but they didn't mention it's not ALL there....then when we got there after an hour wait they say it's wrong....2nd time both comes in and one is alright yet the one they were wrong before is still wrong!!! they said they will give us a call when the part comes in and it was a 2.5 years wait!!! we just went back to the dealer last weekend and what it surprised me is the sales can still recall both of our names even we were in my Civic!!!

he says he will track down for me and hopefully this time won't take like forever....

Piusma

They've been doing my service and my car repair forever and I wanted to buy the locking gas cap but they gave it to me for free somehow... probably because I went back to the dealership 3 times in the same week just to fix the same problem!

5 Zigen
06-28-2001, 02:33 PM
oh
that's probably the reason why!!!

since they have been having trouble w/ the same problem over and over....

we haven't go back for over 2.5 years till last weekend....
