Don't know about "havoc", but it is true that a flywheel that is too light, especially when combined with a lightened crank pulley, will cause false misfire codes. The way to prevent this is to use a flywheel that is at or above a minimum weight. This has been discussed many times so you should be able to find threads with more info either here or in the powertrain forums.
