Would like information on storing an 04 STi for a two month period. I have been told that the ecu will be a problem. Does anyone know if a trickle charger on the battery will help eliminate the ecu fade problem. Would appreciate any help in this matter.

What types of problems does the ECU have when in storage? I stored my STi all last winter from the end of November till April, no problems. And doing the same this winter. I started the car and took it for an occasional drive when there was no salt and chips on the road. You'll be fine.
They do make battery conditioners that you can put on your battery to keep it in top performance during storage.

I was told by the local subaru dealer that after a month of storage the car would be hard to start. It would have a rough idle and the longer it sat in storage more problems could arise with the ecu. I will take your advice and back the battery up with a power source...

I don't think the Azenis will like the snow! Here in PA, PennDOT likes to contaminate the snow with a disgusting mix of extremely corrosive salt and paint/windshield damaging stone chips each time there is a sight of a snow flake! Sometimes they even throw the crap down in anticipation!!

Have to agree that the car will be perfectly fine ... Only reason the ECU could ever have a problem would be if the system got shocked somehow, either high or low voltage ... Should be fine though ... I used to store my ford rustang for months, just pulled the battery into the house so it didn't freeze (forzen batteries are bad, bad, bad) ... Car was always hard to start the first time, and yes it ran a little rough, but that's the way it goes ... Stuff corrodes all over the place when it not used (especially the piston walls/sleeves), unless it's in a contolled environment like a heated garage ... Just my .02 ... :D
