Yet another one of these. Seems like we just had one last month..
Here's (http://www.azsolo2.com) where to go to get more information. Pre-registration will save you $5 and make my life easier (especially if you paypal...)
Decent turnout last month, though we seem to have lost Bud.
Also as mentioned in another thread, Border Region is having an event at the baby road course at Pinal Airpark on the 14th. Not sure if they're allowing novices; definitely will be limiting entries. No detail on it yet.
I will be there for the afternoon groups.

I'll be running the Phoenix event in STX this time(which is running in the morning I think).
The Pinal events are wicked fun, it's a really tight mini road course. Warning, the surface there is a real tire shred-er.
Here is the site with more info.

Thanks for the heads up Geren . If I wasn't checkin the boards I woudn't have run this weekend .
Matt, thanks for the heads-up on Pinal. Just signed up for it; was about time for new tires anyway
That was a fun day. Geren was kind enough to let me "drive" his STi yesterday. Man, that was fun. With the power and 6 speed, the shift points and gearing feel very similar to an RS, although with 2x the power. No bogging whatsover (except for my crappy launch).
that run wasn't very fast, but it was fun. Geren seemed to enjoy it ;). I think I should remember throttle modulation if I get that chance again. Thanks again for letting me make your car look bad.
Everybody did pretty well yesterday. Had some new folks out there kickin some a$$.
Ron, you paxed higher (ok, by 1), and Jay came uncomfortably close on street tires. Ryan smoked all our pax in the TO.

I was pretty happy with my performance. I've come to the conclusion that stuffing 225/50 S-03 Pole Positions on my stock rims was a complete waste of time and money. The side walls are really soft and I can't keep them from rolling over. time for some nicer wheels and Azenis.
:disco:

The STS pax is quite handy, I think you were almost 4 seconds faster. I am pretty happy with my 960, even though It still didn't get me past 5th place in SPM, again. It seems like you and this car a good match, Geren, as your PAX scores are way high and you're whupping up on Mr. Steele. You were also 9th fastest raw time. BTW, I love watching Jay drive, he totally chucks his car around out there and mantains as much lift-throttle oversteer as possible.
The best I could get in to's was a 44.008, about .408 slower. I hate that. I had ride-alongs for all 3, but I can't see that causing the slower time. I haven't gotten faster in to's in a long time.

That rear end just was slippery around the 1st turn going into the beginning of loop - especially in TO's - probably not the fastest way, but it was fun none the less. You can only do so much with a 100% stock car - guess I adjust my driving to make the most of it. Ryan kicked booty on his TO - good job. Anyone going to shred some tires at Pinal? Jay B
It was the first turn I noticed, as I worked right there on course 8.
