Ok, I need some serious advice on whether I should be hearing this or not. This is on an 04 AT tranny, with about 28k on the odo.

1) When the car upshifts/downshifts, I hear a loud clanking noise.

2) When I get into WOT, I let off the gas pedal, and the car continues to rev like it is stuck in gear, then after a few seconds (sometimes up to 5 seconds) it will drop back down, usually with a large jerk forward of the car (in which I move).

I drive hard, but never hard enough to hurt the tranny - and it's completely stock with a warranty. Any suggestions? Thanks for all/any input! :banana:

check your fluid level and color. follow the owners manual instructions for checking it cold. checking it while hot can be dangerous... the dipstick is burried under a bunch of hot stuff on a wrx.

i checked it about a month ago - and everything was fine. i'll check again - and no, i don't "drift".
