So, I have a couple old threads trying to figure out this weeeird noise. It only happens when i'm at idle, and I blip the throttle.
It sounds like two peices of metal hitting eachother. Several replies to several threads left me with the conclusion that it was probably my clutch fork. The reply'rs said this because I thought it was only doing it whilst in gear, but that is not the case.
I had my brother look at it, he couldn't figure it out. I asked my dad about it, he looked at it, and came to the conclusion that I was pinging.
I asked why it only ping'd when I blipped the throttle, he explained it to me but it didn't get driven home to my brain.
So, Is my dad right? When I make the noise by moving the throttle lever while I'm by the engine, it sounds like it's coming from right under where the spark plug wires come together.
I think I'll fill up with 90 Octane tommorow and see if that takes care of it. If not, what are some solutions? Is this destroying my engine slowly?
