Are there any kits that I would be able to use to make my assemblies that take 9007 bulbs into projectors in case I decide to go with HID headlights down the road?

Hank3 11-04-2004, 11:20 PM There are no "official" projector kits for the stock WRX headlights (MY 02-03). Also, HID bulbs only come in D2R and D2S forms. However, you can get adapters for other bulb sizes - not sure if they make one for 9007 sizes. You can go with one of the three aftermarket headlight assemblies that come with low beam projectors (Morrettes, Prodrive UK300s, and Orciaris), and then get an HID kit for them. One other option is to retrofit only the projectors into the existing assembly, then mount a HID system. HIDtech.com is a good place for this. You can get some ideas from their 2004 STi project - www.hidtech.com Mulder 11-04-2004, 11:29 PM If your car description is accurate and you have a 99 Legacy, it's H4 not 9007. And as for projectors I don't know of any options. You can get Morettes but for your car they will be reflectors. If you really want projectors you might have to do something custom which will be expensive and labor-intensive. doomonu 11-05-2004, 10:19 AM If your car description is accurate and you have a 99 Legacy, it's H4 not 9007. I've replaced the bulbs already and so I know for sure that they are 9007 bulbs. Mulder 11-05-2004, 10:45 AM Ok, sorry then. I know that GCs are H4 and I believe that some years of Legacy are as well. But it doesn't really matter, for a retrofit of projectors or any other lights you would be removing the existing assemblies completely and replacing them with different housings that use other bulbs. doomonu 11-05-2004, 11:15 AM alright thanks for the help |
