SPECS: Red 1991 Subaru XT6 4WD with Locking Center Diff
Mileage: 150k I think.... motor has less than that
Well I bought this car from Porter about a year ago in hopes of turning it into a Grassroots Challenge car. With my new job at Folger Subaru I have not had the time or motivation to get it in any kind of racing condition. If I had the time I'd turn this thing into a full time rallycross machine. It's actually every bit as fun to drive as my WRX was.
It's definitely more of a project car at the moment than a daily driver but could easily make a fun daily driver with a little bit of work.
Exterior Notes: Was resprayed by Maaco recently, cheap paint job but it was mainly to make sure the car didn't rust. Right front fender was replaced professionally due to some surface rust. Left rear fender was repaired after a guy backed into the car. There's some very minor rippling but my bodyshop man did a GREAT job with it.
Interior Notes: Dash and buttons all work with the exception of the brights. I have a replacement steering column piece to fix the brights switch but I haven't installed it yet. The rear of the car has been completely stripped out.
Engine Notes: Currently has been sitting for a while and probably won't start without a little bit of love. Power Steering is Fubar'd but I have a new "brain" for the system and a replacement pump to help rebuild it. It has brand new brushes in the electronic part of the pump. The exhaust is just about shot but I was planning on doing my own exhaust system anyways. The rear diff is a little whiny but I just replaced the bushings that hold it so it won't be too much of a chore if you want to get in there and replace anything.
Suspension: Has Impreza front struts and loyale rears in favor of messing with the air suspension. Makes it easier to work on as well. Tires are basically brand new.
There is some light rust on the underside but I already have the rust encapsulator and underbody spray that will be going with the car.
Extras:
- Spare motor with new head gaskets and DeltaCam camshafts. It isn't fully assembled yet but just needs the pullies, covers, etc back on. The cams are installed. These are VERY agressive cams and should provide some serious horsepower gains if you decide to use this motor. The cam seals have also been replaced and I have new gaskets for the covers, intake manifold, and exhaust manifold as well.
- BRAND new clutch that has never been taken out of the box... The clutch is probably due to be replaced in the car
- New thermostat (slap this in when you're swapping motors!)
- Polished intake manifold: killed my dremel doing this job... was my first attempt at polishing but looks pretty darn good. bling bling!
- Oil pan gasket (new)
- Full set of Shop Manuals
- What's left of my Cybrid Power Steering fluid (+ extra can if I can get my hands on one)
$600 obo for the car and all the goodies. I paid $650 for the car, drove it up from atlanta, then spent about $400 on the other parts. Book value says around $1200 but the car does need some work so I figure this is a fair price. I'll get some pictures up tonight.
