Just got done installing it. Only took about an hour.

First and foremost, this thing is frickin loud!!!! I am amazed at how loud it is. The cobra has the same type of intake on it and it is about as loud as that with the blower whine!!!

I did notice the car to be a little bit more peppier.

Bottom line, if you are thinking about doing it, DO IT!!

No the K&N isn't bad for the car. Some intakes could be if they are not properly designed but K&N spent time researching and designing this intake specifically for the STi.

Dynoed to show a 12hp gain with no significant change in A/F ratios. Design around the MAF is great so no CEL.

for now, i heard alof of positive feedbacks for this intake, which it doesn't mess up Air and fuel ratio, also does give you gains.

Most shortrams on the STi will give you similar performance and gains. I just sold a GPmoto and was going to get a K&N but after much deliberation have come to the conclusion that the GPmoto is basically same design but just retains the stock acordian which does not mess up air flow that much. If some of you guys are looking at a cheaper alternative I can vouch for the GPmoto. I felt good gains up top with it and the sound is sick! Not to mention that it actually looks pretty good. Red filter matches the colors nicely.

i wrote K&N and asked them if they tested it to make sure it didnt make the car run lean and they said it would be fine to use it they said in their testing that they found no problems with the typhoon on an STI i have the typhoon on my STI and like it a lot noticed a decent amount of pickup over stock air box it just seems to me that it breaths a lot easier and cleaner definately noticed a difference with it on.

Search on the K&N site, they have the installation guide and u can see the engine bay...
