so i got my 05 sti with 2200 miles tommorow im taking it to the dealership for a full inspection for tranny fluid change oil and all that good bull****, im going to have them basically looking for any leaks anything , inspect the clutch and then im going straight home and i want to install my downpipe, now you might be asking? oh why fadi? i learned how to handle stock sti power and im sick of teh slowness i just got to used to it, and my question here is, how SAFE is it to just put my god speed downpipe on? i got a boost gauge so i should definantly be able to see any kind of boost creep, do you guys think ill get any boost creep with my downpipe? thank you please don't comment and rag on me just tell me if its a good idea.
i dont want to mod to early and cause a early **** up, so give me a spirited, WHY i shouldnt if you think i shouldnt most of my sti friends say "do it you *****" :p so does fahd but i want a expert point of view
think i shoudl run engine managmen first?

I would say put the DP on. Just be aware that if you go to 100% throttle in 5th or 6th gear watch the boost guage to see if your spiking. Remember spiking is a mechanical issue.
EM is always a good thing to do

Come on Fadi, I think I remember hearing something about not modding until 10,000 miles. :p
I don't think you should do it. First it will start with a downpipe, then then a turbo, then a tune etc etc etc. I followed your saga before, and it sounds to me like you have a hard time controlling yourself when it comes to modding.
Wait until you meet your goal. You will have a greater sense of accomplishment and you will probably have a better grasp of driving manual.
Something to think about ;)

but i handled the stock sti power, i drove better than my brother hahaha.......i was made for this, i just want a downpipe, utec and defi gauges thats it......and a catback...well maybe a 18g those are sweet and............oh your right lol, im addicted, its just modding my car is my anti drug and its the only things i got in life, you wouldnt understand dude its just my life.....and i actully respect this car i dont hold launches for 30 seconds like my auto tsk tsk on me.....
but on the real all i want is the d/p,catback,gauges and utec thats it or prolly cobb since they're safe on my other car i ran 22psi on the stock turbo with no em, for along time racing my vehicle im not like this anymore i have matured more about tuning, modding and all this, thats why i dont want to put my d/p on until i got my utec, on my other car my brother bought it for me so its diffrent now this sti i pay for, and i dont have money to play with as i did before.... i actully this weekend took everything off my car like the bolt ons and put them back on just for fun ehhhh :p
