I was bored and decided to make a webpage comparing the stylings of the new WRX and Protege MP3. This is in no way a bash against either Subaru or Mazda. Just a few observations and my opinions. Flames welcome.

excuse, but who gives a flying fart about comparing those cars?

one has over 200hp

and one is slower than molasses on a cold day.

the Mazda could look like an F355 and I wouldnt be caught dead in it!

hmm.. i give a flyin' fart jmott. whats wrong with making comparisons between 2 different cars? i never noticted the striking similarities between the 2 cars before i saw this. also, that Mazda is BAD. if there was no such thing as Subaru, i'd be drivin' a MP3 im sure.

Kinda like clones ... the similar on the outside but totally different on the inside !

Man, that MP3 is fairly sweet lookin... if looks were the only thing, perhaps there'd be an MP3 in my driveway but the GC8 came first!!! But it does look much nicer than the new Lancer Evo VII and if given the choice based on looks I'd take the MP3 over the Accord. er... Lancer.:D

As far as actual content goes ... I don't buy any of it. Sure there are some styling similarities, but I think you're reading into it too much. There are other cars that are much more similar in both design and function.

This is real funny to me being that I own both of these cars. Thats correct I drive the WRX and my wife drives the Mazda.

They look very much the same.

ba_feitl - You are half right the interier looks the same but its whats under the hood that is different (I think thats what you meant).

I like both cars for differnt reasones. The Mazda is the best car by far in its price range and the same goes for my REX. Thats why I bought them.

Well I changed a few typo's here and there that Sanju pointed out. Gonna be adding a few more things in the next couple days so check back.

To those who think that its like comparing apples and oranges, who cares? I've shown this page to a few non-car people and they notice the similarity between the two. If I can convince them, then I think i've accomplished my goal of creating the page.

jag: yeah i was thinking of adding the Wagon versions of the wrx and protege5 but haven't had time yet. The new protege5 wagon in yellow is so nice.. imo better lookin than the impreza wagon.

Of course you need to mentin the horsepower differences between the cars! (MP5 get's what, 120? Maybe they should've modeled the lancer.. :lol:)

u should compare it to the new 2.5RS with the MP3 as they would have at least closer power levels. Then.... the choice would be harder. ;)

hehe, yeah yeah, but my page isn't to sway people from buying one or the other, its just a comparison for looks, thats IT. Not comparing the awd vs fwd, not comparing 227hp vs 140?

If i used the RS and mp3 then the page wouldn't be very good. The RS doesn't have big fog's, spoiler, 17's. There goes half my page!

my friend drove the MP3, and said it actually handled pretty darn well. he said it was SLOW, though. and, someone said that the MP5 only has 120 horsepower, IIRC, it has 130 hp. still too low to compare to the WRX. and, as for the looks of the MP3, i like it alot, but i would DEFINITELY get a rex over the mazda. the only mazda that comes close to a rex is an rx7 in my opinion.
