But more importantly what you want to spend on the car. Search around in the conversions forum for more info. STi_Wanted 11-06-2004, 02:49 PM thanks man can some one give me the specs on the two engines or a site that can give these to me thanks guys STi_Wanted 11-06-2004, 05:06 PM is there a big difference between the L model and RS model? totoherbs 11-06-2004, 05:15 PM thanks man can some one give me the specs on the two engines or a site that can give these to me thanks guys Well base the ej257 STi specs are on subaru.com. The ej207 ver8 jdm motor is on http://www.litimports.co.uk/subaru/stijapspec.html Depending on the year of RS and L there maybe a difference. If your going to start a project car well do a lot more research and good luck. I would start with a late modle L and strip it down to the ground. Pick up a 2.2L short block from crawford and some ver 8 heads.... so on and so on till about $20k is pissed away.  Boost-Free Subee 11-08-2004, 01:26 PM is there a big difference between the L model and RS model? YES. other than the motor, most 2.2L's come with 3.90 gearing instead of 4.11, smaller sways, smaller brakes, drums in the rear, worse suspension, and some interior flash is not there. Unless you were planning on changing every last bit of the car with aftermarket parts, i'd try to find and RS, preferably '00 or '01 (better engine management, lsd rear end) americanyouth 11-08-2004, 05:59 PM Better engine management? He's not going to run the swapped motor off the RS ECU? |
