I was thinking about getting the oil cooler that is offered by Dan at godspeedinc and kingofimports here is a AU link to the kit link (http://www.wrxparts.com.au/pw_p_ocs.htm) but I was wondering if I will have any fitment issues with the oil filter sandwich adapter since I am using headers (HKS) any body using this kit with headers? Thanks -Dave http://www.wrxparts.com.au/img_products/pw_p_ocs_2.jpg

Is there more room with the headers than this?

It's pretty much a complete kit if you drive a LHD car. There are a couple of things you have to do for a RHD car.

1. The hood latch cable guide points to the right on RHD cars. You have to chop it off and drill a hole for a zip tie. The zip tie is the critical part. It keeps the cable from coming out of the slot it's suppose to sit in. Take a look.

2 The "guards" that protect the oil lines from sharp body edges needs to be placed where it makes sense and not necessarily where the directions say.

3 This might not be necessary but it makes for a cleaner install. The holes in the body where the top bracket on the cooler bolts to is occupied by 2 plastic clips that hold the latch cable in place. I relocated these holes to the cooler top bracket (second picture). The hole on the side bracket has to be ovaled out so it its more up and right (first picture). The two original holes on the top bracket have to be ovaled out towards the top (second picture). The end result is that the cooler hangs about 3/8" lower. This makes room to drill two holes in the cooler's top bracket for the plastic tab (third picture). You can see the plastic tabs in the third picture.

4 Again this is probably not necessary. The kit comes with one wire to relocate one horn. The wire is too short. You really need two. I ended up relocating both horns.

5 It needs a thermostat. I added one.

where did you get the thermostat at?? I'm looking to put the kit more in the lower part of the bumber openings or even replacing a fog light...

Get the -8 one. You'll also need 4 -8 to barb fittings.

If you're going to do that you might see if you can just buy the sandwich plate from the vendor (the mocal sandwich with built in oil-thermostat does not fit with OEM exhasut) . A long skinny Mocal cooler would be better there.

Been thinking abou this setup. How much oil do you need to fill with this cooler? Does it change how you change the oil? Seems like it would mostly drain out when you change the filter, but with the thermostat it wouldn't. Is there a way to fill into the cooler, if it needs another liter or so I'd be leary adding it straight to the engine.

There's no way to fill the cooler. Oil thermostats flows a little even when not fully open. This thing only adds a little to the oil capacity (800 ml or just short of a quart according to the manufacturer). Just fill the engine with an extra 1/2 of a quart. Run it to warm and top it off.

It is likely to make a mess as quite a bit of oil (a little less than 800 ml, some of the lines sit below the plate) will drain from the cooler to the sandwich plate when the filter is removed. You will need either a pan that is capable of catching both the drainage from the oil pan and drainage from the filter. Either that or use two pans. Not really a big deal.

Guess you don't change your oil much...

That's good. 1 qt more isn't a big deal. Actually it's good to have the extra capacity. What oil temps do you see now?
