What is the difference between a STi V.4 Type R, and a STi V.4 Type RA.
I know the type R is a coupe. Is that the only difference?
Are the trans the same?

Thanks.

Similiar vehicles besides being coupe there are not many differences not enough that you would have to take into serious debate on which one to get!!!

RA has shorter ratios IIRC and maybe the roofscoop too

Are the trannys the same? I know the RA has hardened gears, and is a really good tranny.

they are nearly the same... trannys have the same ratois and stuff, the R even has a roof vent. the real difference is the 2dr vs. 4 dr. but, the type RA is quite a bit lighter, because that was their homoligated car, IE: it was built to be turned into a rally car.

Other than the 2door/4door & tranny, the Type-R has a SILVER faced gauge cluster and the RA has the white face I believe. I don't know of any other differences.

Most importantly,

The type RA is an STI with more agressive cams (and much shorter gears- already mentioned).

im pretty sure the only differnces are the 2dr/4dr thing.. the r has more "ground efx" and whatnot... and it has a gearbox with closer ratios and a locking differential

correct me if im wrong?

go to www.ravensblade-impreza.com

look under tech docs.

You can see from this information that the R and RA are mechanically identical. The differences are cosmetic/comfort.
