Sent you an e-mail a long time ago, but never got a reply. Maybe they though my e-mail addy was spam.
sti-la 11-11-2004, 09:29 PM Just installed the PNP Xede in my 04 sti. I currently have a catless 3 inch turbo back exhaust by Buschur racing. Had a friend of mine help with the install as he is familiar with the xede and x map software. This took mayby 20 minutes to install. Basically, remove part of the carpet on the passsenger side. remove the metal kick panel over the ecu. Then remove the 4 factory plugs from the ecu , plug the xcede motherboard into the ecu , and then the main wire harness plugs into the other side of the motherboards female end. Turn the car on and confirm map 1 working with green light. And that's it. I used my lap top and used the xmap software and confirmed the correct map loaded ( 93 octane with 3 inch turbo back). did a few test runs and man i was impressed. Very noticable touque increase. Turbo spools up much quicker and max boost is acheived through 2nd, 3rd, 4th and so on. the car is pulling much harder , and more linear through the gears. And Thanks to Nick at Vishnu for helping us get off on the right foot with the installation..

Quote from my buddy that helped me do the install... and note he posted this on the evolutionm website...
" a little exhaust history. last week my buddy bought this Buschur turbo-back exhaust off of ebay. It has no Cat and has to be the loudest exhaust known to man. So here we were blasting around on the outskirts of town with the cops scrambling and looking for some crazy GROUP of cars street racing. I found out today from a cop friend of mine that they were looking for what they thought were 4 different cars racing. WHEW!! Time for a new exhaust buddy..
After 40 minutes of evaluating his new found power we tip toed back home. Overall, he is a very happy custumer. I hooked up the lap top to the Exede and then showed him all of the functions that the Exede has and the tuning capabilty within the tuning software under the fingertips of a learned person of course. After seeing and feeling where his money went he is now a Vishnu convert just like me.
Great product guys.. "
I concur. Thanks Shiv !!!!!!!!!!!!
cooter 11-11-2004, 10:18 PM How much is the PnP XEDE and any news or price yet on the Vishnu STi Stage 2 kit?
Pretty sure it's $895 for the xede and harness.
Stage 2 would be the cost of the exhaust, fp-green, and injectors....on top of the xede. A nice little chunk of change
sti-la 11-11-2004, 10:34 PM Just bought the pnp Xede and it was $995. the old one was $895
cooter 11-12-2004, 10:54 AM Ouchie :(
Vishnu Performance 11-12-2004, 01:29 PM Yes, we raised the price on the STi XEDE to 995 since the harness was just darn expensive to make. The EVO XEDE will also see the same price rise by year's end. I think the new features in v3 will make the new price more than justified however.

How does it compare to a UTEC for the STi?
Honest question, just info like does it comepensate for abrupt altitude/temp changes without having to retune, etc. Can it handle larger injecters, turbo, larger MAF, etc?
Thanks.

Hiya,
All the factory baro, temp, etc,. compensations are still in effect so it will adapt to changes in conditions just fine. This has never been a problem with any of our engine control solutions (reflash or XEDE). And yes, it can handle larger injectors (we use 850cc in our STi Stg 2 kit, for instance). Ditto for turbos. There is no need to upgrade the stock MAF despite what others may suggest :)

Curious as well. I'm ready for a DP and EM. I've already decided on a Cobb DP just have to decide on EM. Not sure if one EM has an advantage over another since my STi is my daily driver.
cooter 11-12-2004, 06:58 PM I just put my xede and harness on today. Loaded up the 93 octane sub-zero map and went for a little drive. The difference was more than I had expected. I'm making slightly more boost than stock (1 bar in 2nd/3rd, 1.05 bar in 4th/5th), yet it's a totally different animal. Can't wait to put my exhaust on
Oh yeah, no stuttering, hesitations or any other shenanigans
sti-la 11-13-2004, 12:52 PM Shiv,
Earlier i spoke with you to increase my boost to 1.1 - 1.2 bar. As after the initiall install of the XEDE i could not get more than 1 to 1.05 bar. Made an adjustment on the XEDE boost map. Highlighted all the cells and adjusted the offset. Placed +2% value for the offset change and then burned the map to the XEDE. It made a difference. Did a few runs and went through 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and let the rpms build to 6k before each gear change. able to get 1.1 - 1.2 in 4th, and it peaked to 1.3 in 5th. Feels that it is pulling hard through all gears and did not fall on its face at all. Tried with x map and watched the ignition section and did not appear to have to pull much timing under high boost. Now today it is very cool (around 55 degrees) and the car would pull harder because of this anyway. Under higher temps probably will not build as much boost.
Should i back down the boost map a bit? Or is 1.3bar in 5th safe considering the cool weather.
Thanks..

Actually, all looks good. If you get 93oct gas, running 1.3 bar in 5th gear is fine. It will only do so in the midrange region, quickly tapering off above 5000rpm. On 91 oct, however, I'd keep peak boost right around 1.2 bar. Looks good though... :)

I'mma wait a little while and see if anything turns up that might be more appealing than our beloved green

Zumble 11-18-2004, 01:52 AM Bump for info on PnP XEDE for 05 Forester XT!
antimullet 11-18-2004, 08:14 AM Shiv,
I noticed on CHipTorque's sight they have the Beta V3 software for the Xede. I also noticed this software allows for RPM raising, Boost limit raising, and Knock threshold.
Can we incoorporate these features? I just bought a Xede from you for my 05 STi and was just wondering.
mgenti 11-18-2004, 09:59 AM Bump for info on PnP XEDE for 05 Forester XT!
Also, 04 Forester XT! Would assume if 05 works 04 would to and vice versa.

Zumble 11-18-2004, 12:45 PM My concern with the 05s is that the ECU is different than the 04s. Anyone can reflash an 04 ecu but it seems not many people can do 05s.

speedypete 11-18-2004, 03:27 PM Also interested in xede for FXT :)
