Anyone know who Craig Lieberman is? He's the director of the N.I.R.A Import Drag Racing Series.

Well I happened to shoot him over an e-mail since his car is the Supra in The Fast & The Furious happens to be for sale on eBay and I just wanted to compliment him on his car.

Well... he wrote back AGAIN... check it out...

His Second Reply:
12.8??? 12 anything is big boy territory! I will for sure check out your site!!

My Second Reply:

Thanks for the reply Craig. I actually didn't expect a response so
quickly. Well even if you can't get a WRX in the sequel I'd love to extend
an invitation for you to poke around the website/forums. We've got a very
good group of people on the site growing quite rapidly since the release of
the WRX. Plus we've got some mighty fast WRX's. Alex's , my co-owner in
the i-Club, '02 WRX just ran a 12.8 this weekend.
If you drop by the site send me an e-mail, let me know what you think.

Again... your car... simply AMAZING!

His Reply:
Thanks for the kind words....I hope to get a WRX included in the sequel...stay in touch in case we need to draw upon the talent pool from local Subie owners.

Mr Lieberman,
Just wanted to say, you have an amazing car. I just can't believe you are willing to part with it. But good luck on the sale. I know I could never part with my car had I put that much overtime into it.
I'm the owner of an Subaru Impreza enthusiasts club, http://www.i-club.com. Apparently Paul Walker met up with a few of my members when his agent was trying to introduce him to some of the import guys. Just a small world I guess.
Again, an absolutely beautiful car you have there. I hope whatever you are getting to replace it gets the same love and attention you paid to the Supra.

I also wrote back and made mention of Alex's 12.8 second WRX! :) Who knows... we'll see...

Now that could be some serious donations to the i-club !

I can see it now, blatant endorsements throughout the sequel for i-club just like NOS had !

Cool deal. I think there should be a rival gang of all Subie's. I'm sure we can rack together a good 7-8 of them that they can shoot. :)

Good on ya Nick! Managed to get in a good plug for Subies and the I-Club. I hear Hollywood calling!

If they do include a WRX, maybe they will show it blowing off a bunch of 2WD cars on a twisty dirt road. :D

Lol, so when they 'jack the semi they use their scoobs on those dusty socal-arizona-nevada dirt roads to make their dramatic escape into the countryside. Making a mockery out of the local law enforcement whilst doing 4-wheel drifts at obscene angles? "Excellent" (Like Mr. Burns..) :D

i second the notion of emphasizing the AWD on the scoobies...
hehe in a chase or something where the scoob gets away via a dirt/snow/whatever road against FWD/RWD cars heheh...

oh, and of course the trunk monkey hanging out the back of the car......

If we can get a "team" of Subaru's as a prominent part of the sequel..heck...I'd be willing to drive down to Cali for the shoot! :D

Good stuff Nick!

Sounds good - when do we get to meet & practice driving around in delta wing formation?

This is terrible news! If it does show up in the movie we will have all those prepubescent kids running out to get one. And they will destroy our culture, reputation, and cult appeal.

Welcome to Honda land folks.

nah, scoobies are more likely to become as popular as DSMs. Too expensive to be like Hondas. I wouldn't worry about that.

ALthough, they may require some colorful decals all over them...Some find that offensive.

Screw the Fast and the Furious sequel (which they started writing after the first film's focus group BTW), make a Subie movie! That would be much more entertaining than street and drag races, there could be rally competitions with EVOs and all sorts of other cars. They could travel all over the world to different famous rally tracks. You could really make it entertaining, and it's not like you have to play it all up with gimicks (NOS, stickers), because the rally scene already has everything you need. I like it.

Craig - Don't forget the Subaru gang!! :)

If they did include a Sube in FATF2, it wouldn't be as good because between racing scenes, instead of talking about and buying lots of NOS bottles, the Sube driver would just keep going online to surf the iClub!

I just imagine it like this...

that kid who was the cop, walks into the high performance place, and instead of saying "I need noss" , he would say "I Need Scoobie"

Penphoe
06-27-2001, 09:14 PM
Nawwh, what they need in the sequal is an Impreza ghost cop car like we've got up here in Vancouver! It'd be like the cop is going under cover to catch some serial murderer whose in the underground drag racing scene. The Impreza will of course be of the GC8 body style, but will have an STi V6 drive train in it specially borrowed from the Japanese police department! ;) Of course, no usage of NOS will be needed since this monster ghost cop car will run 11's going backwards down the 1/4 mile! :p :D hahaha! I'd pay full fair to watch that movie! ;)

LaterZ!

I think for one scene we should have 10 scoobies 4 wheel drifting around a corner in unison :D

Don't think the WRC wing would make it under the 18 wheeler!

all that comes to mind is that scene in "Legends of Speed" where the gang of Subies is rollin in deep to pick up their buddy from the jailhouse.

Awesome job though boss;)

it wouldnt work... it would take all the honduh kids watching the movie about a 1 month and 58 hours on-line to figure out what the AWD on the back of the WRX means..
