View Full Version : anyone use the Falken Beta's????
03boxer4 11-12-2004, 01:53 AM anyone use these yet? seem like a decent deal, how do they perform in the rain and **** too,
my options are
Kumho 712's
Falken ziex 512's (if anyone can find some)
Falken Beta
nitto nt 450's..
these are gonna be my winter and spring tires, lemme know, thanks
Uncle Scotty 11-12-2004, 02:00 AM If you mean the FK-451, then they are a far better UHP 'summer' tire than any of the others you listed....they are NOT an AS or snow tire, so don't try to use them in the winter.
If you are looking for an AS(all season) HP tire, then the Toyo Proxes4 or the Pirelli PzeroNero M&S are two very good choices.

Uncle Scotty 11-12-2004, 03:01 AM ok...here it is simple.
you need a winter or all season tire.....i would recommend http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Avon&tireModel=Tech+M550&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=055WR6M550&fromCompare1=yes
or
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Kumho&tireModel=ECSTA+ASX&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=055WR6EASX&fromCompare1=yes
For the $$$ for AS tires...and ya get what ya pay for.....is it cheap to wreck your car 'cuz ya bought junk tires????
didn't think so.
omahasubaru 11-12-2004, 10:21 AM spend more money on tires and less on other things, they are what keep your car on the road, help it go, turn, and stop better. Granted you can over pay for tires that don't offer that much more, but don't cheap out on tires, if you're going to do that, just run on the stock RE92's and keep buying them used cheap as people unload them here on NASIOC.
subieworx 11-12-2004, 10:30 AM The Ziex 512 are good tires. The best prices can be found on edgeracing.com.

Uncle Search...
For us florida boys, do you say the GR Beta FK-451, or the 512's? the old Lady nix'd the ideal of the GY F1's....
subieworx 11-12-2004, 08:24 PM There would be no need for the AS Ziex 512 in Florida. Go with the FK451's.
Celly 11-12-2004, 11:15 PM Can anyone vouce for the 451's and if they are quiet?

My next set of tires will be the FK-451's unless something comes along that I just can't pass up on trying, or for whatever reason I can not get them....I'm real ready to junk my 'Azenis'....

Well, since they are Uncle Scotty approved, I just placed my order. I should have them in the next few days.

Do you really feel that the 451's will provide that much more grip? What about the new Azenis ST 615? And I thought you were a die hard Kuhmo MX fan???

Mx's if you don't need as much wet performance or want/need a light(er) tire.....451's if you need more wet capability....
They are BOTH excellent tires dry, no doubt, with differences that may make one a better choice over the other depending on the conditions that the vehicle will be used in.
I believe that in Florida that the 451 may be a better choice of tire, over the MX, due to the ammount of thunderstorms and rain we get.
The ST 615 is a new and unknown item.....the MX and the FK-451 are known items.
Celly 11-16-2004, 01:32 PM Uncle Scotty:
I should have my FK-451's installed this weekend after I get back into town. I'll update everyone after I get some miles on em.
poison 11-16-2004, 09:47 PM 451's are great, i love mine, thanks UScotty
eyeballs 11-16-2004, 11:01 PM 451's in two words:

Celly 11-17-2004, 10:40 AM UPS Put my 451's on the truck.... Maby it is now time to race the truck.... Oh wait. Perhaps they are in the truck.
