View Full Version : SCCA rally rulebook is on-line Jon Bogert 06-28-2001, 02:36 PM http://download.scca.org/2001PerformanceRallyRules.pdf About 62MB Tony 06-28-2001, 08:24 PM Thanks for saving me $15 Jon! Tony iBlueVirus 06-28-2001, 08:39 PM THANK YOU! Jon Bogert 06-28-2001, 11:42 PM Don't thank me yet. The rocket scientists in Denver secured the pdf so you can't search it, can't print it, and can't select and copy text from it. Very useful. Any hackers out there who know how to strip the security from a pdf? Tony 06-29-2001, 09:54 AM I'm no hacker but we have the full Adobe suite at work. I'll have a chat with the lady in Marketing and see if there is a way to edit it to open it up. Tony ToJo 06-29-2001, 12:10 PM I found this: http://www.password-crackers.com/DOWNLOAD/guapdf12.zip Don't know if it works yet though Mike Anson 06-29-2001, 02:42 PM Try File -> Save As Rename the file and in the Security drop down, select None. Mine is printing now. So far so good. Now, maybe I can buy my rally car tomorrow ;) Cheers Jon Bogert 06-29-2001, 03:10 PM Wow, that was easy. I deleted all the ads and it's now only 5.5MB. Edit: and then I re-distilled it and it's only 634KB. :) Impreza Rider 07-04-2001, 05:16 PM You wanna put the small version online somewhere Jon? Jon Bogert 07-04-2001, 11:02 PM Yes I would, but that would be illegal. The SCCA has already sicced their lawyers on some poor schmuck who had the temerity to scan, OCR and make a pdf from the last rulebook. I have no doubt they would see to it I lost my web host if I posted it. Greg555 07-05-2001, 11:08 AM If you have full version of Acrobat you can open the file then go to File ==> Document security==> Change settings and uncheck whatever you want to undisable. Greg |
