... by chance I discovered an Autocross Newspaper called North American PYLON at a newstand. This Sept. issue was Volume 14, Number 12 ... 40+ pages. Perhaps it was extra thick because of it's very complete coverage of the Nationals.

It's published in Pleasanton, CA ... you can get ahold of them by phone (925) 846 - 7728 ... or internet: lollipop487@comcast.net ... or pjkelly@napylon.com

website: http://www.napylon.com/About.htm

$24/year subscription ... 12 issues

The newspaper includes an extensive schedule of events for the entire U.S.

You found that at a newsstand? Interesting!

imo...North American Pylon is mostly usable for sopping up liquid spills in the garage. Poorly written, terrible editing, usualy inaccurate with regard to actual event happenings. Basically...they print whatever the hell gets sent to them.

After getting a few issues two years ago, I cancelled my subscription and had to argue with Pat and John Kelly to please not print a little profile on me and my car, for I did not want to be associated with their product.

Just my opinion of course.

hmmm ... I already found some decent articles on their web site. Nice to support ANYTHING that helps our sport. Although we actually have too many people in our Southern CA region ... with over 300 drivers at some of our events ... we are trying to figure out how to limit entrants. We had one race last year where the afternoon groups only got TWO runs! That discouraged a lot of newbies! Getting into some practice events, which are typically limited to 80 drivers ... is often difficult or impossible, because the hosting sub-club will limit the practice to just their members. And we are down to only 2 locations in the Los Angeles area ... and San Diego seems to only use Qualcomm Stadium. We apparently just lost the Hollywood Park location ... which was central for a lot of people, because another mega store is going to be built there ... although the residence of Inglewood voted to NOT allow Walmart to build there.
