What would you guys say is the measurement in degrees(90',45',15' etc) from are ears to the woofer center in OE location in the WRX or STI.
I am setting up my crossovers,I think it is like
45 or 30,but not sure, what did you guys use!!

unless you've got a mic and spectrum analyzer, the angle won't tell you anything for setting up the x-overs. If you are looking into that kind of detail, do kick pods. if you can lay fiberglass, you can make your own kicks. takes some time, (mine took 14 hours) but oh, the detail!!!

No,I am setting the jumpers in the crossovers for the SPX-177R as stated in the directions from alpine. If you go to www.alpine.com under technical,speakers,spx177r,manuals. Download it and you will see what I am talking about, you do it for all there speakers now 177.176,17mb,etc. There are settings for woofer, tweeter and phase link, yes time correction can also be used to do phase link and to bring the tweeterws in closer.

aha... that will help, then. basically, it should adjust the volume levels of either the tweet or woof depending on the amout of roll-off you get, but won't compensate for the change in freq. response you get from the roll-off. try going to walmart, getting a kiddie protractor, and screwing it to a 1x1 piece of wood, about 2 feet long. use that as a jig, and you'll be able to adjust each side independently for the driver...

Thats funny thats sort of what we did,we both had diff. values so we had to see who was right.I extended a protractor I dug up from a Mechanical drawing class kit in the cellar,(I new that class would come in handy :D ) Also I figured out finally how to set up the crossovers ,It was driving me crazy,I did not want to just fudge it,I wanted done right the first time and not have to go back in the door if it sounds crappy(I know I did that part right).Anyway thanks for jumping in and giving advice and Help.

I would say that oem woofer location his, when listening in the driver seat, about 15° off-axis on the passenger side, and almost 90° on the driver side. don't put each jumper at the same angled for each side, they are there exactly no to do that. if you can boost the upper mids on the driver side and cutting them a bit on the passenger side, then your imaging will be better. upper mids from the driver are really muffled because of the axis, and that then to diverge the imaging

Ya see I am getting all kinds of differnt reasoning,Alpine states not to change the passenger side keep exactly as the drivers side.
