I dyno'd my car yesterday at Dyno Comp in Scottsdale yesterday. I am running an APS uppipe, green filter, silencer delete, AEM Alternator pulley, Unichip, APS 3 inch catback exhaust and Perrin Downpipe. I was initially at 218 whp, on the preset 93 octane tune from APS, we pulled some timing and added fuel to prevent det problems with 91 octane AZ fuel. I wound up at 215. He says his dyno runs about 10 horse less than dynojet numbers but are more repeatable. I am at the stock 13-13.5 boost level as well. The power curve was very linear and peak boost hit at 3250 and held relatively flat until 6500 where it tapered to about 12. I am pretty pleased with the numbers and driveability and would recommend that shop to anyone in the are. When I go with the VF-34, intercooler, etc I will switch to ECUteck from unichip as it allows way more control over the factory ecu.

why only 13psi you could be at 16 psi no problem with that setup.

I don't have a boost controller for the UNICHIP(yet). There was no way to alter the boost level without an MBC. I would rather let the computer handle boost then risk engine damage with the 04 computer. The lag between closed and open loop was incredible. The computer would hold 14.7/1 a/f ratio sometimes for 4-5 seconds as it attempted to learn around the corrections we were making. The tuner also said it was a lower boost tune/ with more timing from APS, but still delivered around 10 more horse than he usually sees with that setup. Who knows? I wonder what kind of power I could make with 16 psi? Anyone?

if you made 215 at 13.5psi,
might make in the range of 240ish at 16psi...
Did the new unichip fix the open loop delay? I'd love to see your AF curve.

here's my dyno...
TurboXS Stage 1 Unichip which i had remapped by GP Moto (i had detonation problems with the TXS map as well as more mods above stage 1)
Perrin intake, samco y pipe, gutted uppipe, bosal downpipe, gutted 3rd cat and a catback. 218whp/216tq
I love my torque curve, jumps right up and stays flat until the end.

No, to the open loop delay. We(he) had to play with the air fuel to get it down, but the computer kept overriding his settings. If I can find scanner, I will put it in, but basically the A/F kept getting "stuck" at 14.7/1 for a few seconds, then would drop back to around 11.7/1. We got it as we good we could, but when I swicth to the ECUtek, that is one area we are going to adjust. At one point the delay was so bad the car was at 5000 rpm and still 14.7/1. I don't know why Subaru would build those timers into the ECU and risk det problems holding such a lean A/F ratio for so long. Any other suggestions would be great. I am waiting on DASTEK to email me back on the boost controller that plugs into the unichip. I might up her to 16 psi, then go back to Dyno comp for more tuning.

Dyno comp in Scottsdale uses a dyno dyamics, I believe.
