Hey all I am looking to try and find a sponser to help pick up the bill for some of the mods that I have planned for my RS. I would like to make the car both show and go. I am interested in autox and have attended and participated in some events. And i would also like to put the car in serveral shows. I need to know where to look for such a sponser that is interested in the same things or if anybody knows someone that I should check out. I have searched around the web and have come up pretty empty handed. Let me know where I should look. thanks

Tommy is right.

Sponsor's will only back you if:

a) Know some Marketing Exec that works at one of the many auto manufacturers that is active in Amateur motorsports.
b) Sleeping with the owner of an aftermarket shop
c) Become an OUTSTANDING racer at professional, well known, track events
d) Consistently win AutoX Divisional's (or Nationals) on your own dime. Many of the Auto Manufacturers have prize money for people who win the top of their class in Amateur motorsports. The cash is only a few grand, but if you consistently win. The manufacturer *may* be interested. (Note: This will take 2-3 years).

If you DO get a sponsor (even if they only pay 10% of tire costs) at your current auto activities they will have you sign a contract stating that you will attend almost all events and maintain a position within the top 5 or so (depending on the size of the event).

You could start by spelling "sponsor" correctly...hahahaha j/k!!!

Will is totally 100% correct on this one...it takes time and skill...or you could go the route I did with my motorscooter racing sponsor...know the guy you race for and just get parts @ a discount... :D

lemmie see, you'd have to be their b**** for years on end, you have to be the best at what you do, and you have to KNOW some people. plus you have to have the money to pay for a lot of things before they even CONSIDER you

Tommy and Will are right. Another is that you'd have to trade in your RS and get the WRX. But by this time, someone's beaten you to it...
