Took my car to the dyno for the first time on saturday and here's my results. The dyno is a DynoDynamics, stock WRX is about 165 HP on this dyno.

I've got a 2002 WRX with the following mods:
Element Tuning Hydra
Vf24
550cc injectors
fuel pump
Borla headers
Crucial uppipe
TurboXS downpipe
Random Tech cat
Scoobie Sport muffler
AVO Intercooler
K&N Typhoon Intake
I had a bit of trouble holding my normal boost pressures on the dyno. I was only able to peak at 15.8 psi falling to just below 14 at redline. Normally on the road I was hitting 17.3 psi peak.
After getting home and going over everything to see if i had a boost leak I checked the bov and discovered that the spring inside it appeared to be bound up somehow. Pushing on the plunger resulted in a nasty crunching sound. Got that replaced and after some re-tuning I'm going back to the dyno, I think I left some power on the table.

Hi,
This will be interesting to see. Have you tested the new BOV yet, as in does it make the same sound, also did you see what was making that crunching sound within the BOV?
In any case I would like to see if the car runs better with that changed or if the boost stays the same. Thanks for the information. :)

You picked a good dyno to go to. Dyno4mance is an awesome shop and Andrew is a helluva guy :D
FYI, for your extent of modification, most cars are putting down 250-270whp on pump on that dyno. You're not too far off....so adding 1.5 psi of boost should put you in that window. Good luck!
I pulled the bov off and took it apart to see whats making that noise. Somehow the spring inside the valve got all bound up. It was not letting the piston move smoothly in either direction. It wanted to stick.
With the new bov in place my boost response is back closer to what I remember it being. I've got some tuning to do at the low end as well, apparently the old valve was leaking at idle as well.

are you tuning the hydra, or is someone else?

Great job tuning the Element Hydra. Those are excellent numbers for that type of dyno and I love to see consistency between runs.
Thanks,
Phil

See you soon

I was tuning the Hydra myself. Its a very nice system, I'm still learning all the things it can do.
I walked away with some clear areas that I need to work on with the map. I have to say the unit produces pretty consistent results. I was pleased that aside from the boost issue I had, there were no ECU releated issues while I was on the dyno.
I had the opportunity to take a nice long drive over the holiday and managed to get the same fuel economy as the stock ecu. I'm really pleased with how its shaping up, cant wait to get back to Dyno4mance and get it back on the dyno.
