I just spent the last hour or two downloading and watching video's at www.patrickrichard.com . I love the short in car cam video, But the best thing on all the video's is this quote if you can call it a quote from pat " hahaha 6th gear" , They were drifting through a right sweeping corner on gravel then the comentator comes in to explain 6 th gear at 6 thousand rpm is about 190 kmh  . I think it might be more like 210 who knows.
I am sure most of you have allready watched these videos but I just found them.
Now I am gatting all these crazy ideas of tossing a cage in my other awd/turbo car ( not the sti) and hitting up the back country logging roads or I'll probaly just head out to some local auto cross event. Later Justin.

Come out to one of the TSD events, all you need is some basic safety stuff and a navigator, no cage required.
Do it once, you'll be addicted.

or volunteer at the next TSD doing checkpoints. you get your rooms paid for, and you basically get to drive the same roads as the competitors, and you don't have to worry about time. trust me, you'll love it.

There's also rallycross events. If you want to stay off the gravel, there is always the frozen lake. No cage, go as fast as you can. It's similar to autox, just on ice.

Justin:
I have been autox'ing my STi at the UBCSCC's slush series, and having a real blast! There is no significant danger to the car (other than tire wear) or driver - no cliffs to fall off! There is one this week end (you don't have to go to UBC either):

Sadly, I won't make it this week end, but I will go to the rest of the series next year for sure!
Have fun!
Mitch
hehe justin it was a bit less because we were running 4.44's in the car (still fast, but not as fast as say 6k rpm in the longer gears you have in the street STi). The JDM 5th and 6th is also shorter.
if you want to get into rallying there is lots going on in bc now
