Is there a way to calculate it using my time slips?

View Full Version : Calculating 0-60 time. PeteDucati 11-25-2004, 09:16 AM Is there a way to calculate it using my time slips? SGOSWRX 11-25-2004, 09:32 AM I don't have the website off hand. I'm sure someone will post the site. All you have to do is enter your 1/8 mile time and mph and it will calculate you estimated 0-60mph. You may be able to find it doing a search. I didn't know they existed for 0-60, too.. did the search and found a site: www.wallaceracing.com/0-60_equation.php Here's a nice one to calculate your WHP along with your 1/4 mile time and speed potential. www.prestage.com/community/Car+Math/ET+and+Horsepower+Calculators/default.aspx V6TurboTA 11-26-2004, 01:19 PM that thing tells me i did it in 1.85 seconds via snoped  ~v6 PeteDucati 11-27-2004, 04:26 PM that thing tells me i did it in 1.85 seconds via snoped  ~v6 That's ConeBasher fast! It figured I would hit 60 in almost 4 seconds flat.. which seems pretty accurate if an STi does it in 4.4 seconds and is at least half a second slower in the 1/4 than I'm running. Scuba Steve 11-27-2004, 05:40 PM Tells me 3.97 seconds, that sounds about right. Not bad considering a shift to third. V6TurboTA 11-27-2004, 06:10 PM Thats conebasher CLAIMED fast. ;) Difference being? I ran 112mph in the 1/8th on that pass on my way to a 9.89@130mph žmile... Conebasher ran 103mph in the 1/4 mile. :alien: ~v6 wcbjr 11-27-2004, 11:06 PM Conebasher was also having some issues. Nootch 11-27-2004, 11:49 PM I dont know how accurate that calculator is...it said 0-60 was 2.96 for my Vette on drag radials...1/8 mile figures were 7.39@94.77 midnite_wrex 11-28-2004, 01:12 AM It figured I would hit 60 in almost 4 seconds flat.. which seems pretty accurate if an STi does it in 4.4 seconds and is at least half a second slower in the 1/4 than I'm running. The 6mt makes up the better part of a second in the STi's 4.4 second 0-60 claim. 4 seconds flat would be about right though if your car wasn't a 4eat. -Ed tribalwrx 11-28-2004, 02:30 AM hell it told me i did it in 4.45 seconds, go figure :D mike ERaab212 11-28-2004, 04:34 AM myne seems pretty accurate. 3.3sec 0-60mph ERIK PeteDucati 11-28-2004, 10:49 AM The 6mt makes up the better part of a second in the STi's 4.4 second 0-60 claim. 4 seconds flat would be about right though if your car wasn't a 4eat. -Ed I don't know what the 4eat has to do with anything. I know it's a wider ratio trans, but that online calculator was not designed for a 6mt close ratio STi transmission, it's a generic and universal formula which can be applied to anything, even a two speed powerglide. My 13.306@104.78 run (8.584@82.30 1/8mile) was calculated at 4.56. midnite_wrex 11-28-2004, 12:52 PM The 4eat has everything to do with slowing down initial acceleration. With any MT, you can rev up to 6k and drop the clutch. That helps 0-60 quite a bit... For example, in my WRX, I had a trap speed of 104.44 (compared to your 104.78) one run... but the ET was 12.9, not 13.3. I turned a 1.7x 60' for that run. What was your 60' for your 13.3? I'm not criticizing your driving; after all, there isn't much to screw up with a 4eat. But I am saying that your 0-60 would probably be about half a second faster if you could launch... Unless you get a high stall, that'd help some. -Ed PeteDucati 11-28-2004, 01:12 PM Us guys with the 4eat can usually leave the line at +/-3800 rpm and full boost.. I cut a 1.765 60 foot with my 12.714@106.82 (8.123@85.24 1/8mile). That was my fastest 1/8 mile time.. most of my 1/4 trap speeds are between 107 and 108mph at 12.7 seconds. My 13.306@104.78 was with a 1.905 60 foot running exhaust manifolds and 17lbs of boost. Believe it or not, the tires sometimes break loose when launching. I already have the high stall TC and VB upgrade from Level Ten.. but the 1-2 shift is a bit sloppy when the trans is brake torqued for too long. 60' of 1.814 1/8 8.128 mph 86.04 1/4 12.674 mph 108.01 My best time yet.. with a crap 60'.. spun those tires. midnite_wrex 11-28-2004, 01:35 PM There you have it then... how much did your 60's improve once you installed the high stall? -Ed PeteDucati 11-28-2004, 06:46 PM I've always had the modded TC and valve body. The tires spinning hurt my 60 foot more than anything. There's only a few guys pulling off sub 1.7 60 foot times around here.. so 1.765 is nothing to be ashamed of and it would've been a drop quicker if the tires didn't spin off the line.. unfortunately I'm forced to drive through the bleach pit. |
