Just wondering how much these two cost and where they can be bought from. I am thinking of going with a jdm v7 6 speed before my tranny goes, that way i can sell it and get some money for it. How much do the driveshafts and ring/pinion go for? I am going to be using the stock rear end for now. Also how hard is it to swap the ring/pinion (any writeups?) I've done all the work on my car so far (turbo, injectors, pump, uppipe, etc....) and nothing has ever been hard or a challenge.

Used, R&P $150 auto drive shaft $130 I paid shipped. Kinda hard to find em though. Got to call around. Otherwise the dealer has them for 3 times the price.

Lots of R160's have been jacked up from install. Lash and stuff is critical. Shops that do em all the time still screw them up once in a while.

Actually KingPin has an R160 with a 3.9 R&P already in it to make your live easy. It was mine but opted for R180 at the last minute.

Used 5mt is worth a grand so don't break it first!

yea, this is why im considering getting the 6 speed now before i break it. Just need to come up with the funds and help convince parents to let me borrow that grand then pay them back once i sell the tranny.
