Why only a one month warranty? That doesnt instill much confidence in your work.

Its a genuine subaru part and should be warrantied as such along with your work if something is done incorrectly. The only thing that shouldn't be covered is abuse such as someone misshifting and causing synchro problems, or dropping a clutch 10 times and blowing up 1st gear. Other than that, any other probelm that I can think of would be the part's fault or the installer's fault, and if it takes a month and a day for the problem to be exposed I'm out of luck after spending over $2,000 of my hard money. I dont know about that.

I definately understand your concerns about the warranty. The 1 month period warranty I believe is pretty much industry standard, especially with aftermarket builds, and is offered to us by the rebuilders (who have a tranny dyno). Generally speaking, if a transmission is built incorrectly, the user will notice within the first few hours of driving, whereas if a transmission is abused or placed in a high-power applications, failure will occur overtime. This is the same reason why many race engines only offer a start-up warranty. You can take as an extreme example several of the high horsepower Subaru's being drag-raced and making in excess of 500 ft/lbs torque. These cars often destroy a transmission every few runs.

Since the majority of our customers are using our transmissions in high powered applications, we feel that a 1 month warranty is both fair and reasonable. In regards to factory Subaru components, even the factory V6 STI's are not making in excess of 210whp, whereas many of our customers are in fact making much more. :)

That being said, we do have absolute confidence in our transmission rebuilds. If there is a question of rebuild error or improper rebuild, we will 100% warranty the transmission. However in our experience we often find transmissions are often being damaged due to reasons other than improper rebuilds.

what could you guys do on a set of gears and bearings as well as a exedy organic clutch shipped to 99515, now heres my dumb ? of the day due you have to replace the bearing? and what about replaceing the syncros cause i believe my 4th gear syncro is on its last legs.

Hi Mike,

For the bearings, we generally recommend them being replaced for higher mileage transmissions (20K+) as often the bearing fatigue will cause the shaft play that contributes to broken gears. That being said many of our customers dont' replace the bearings due to cost and many of these transmissions turn out fine. We always recommend replacing synchros. :)

from your web site you carry the syncros , so lets say i for go the bearings and get the syncros in stead, what kind of package cost woould i be looking at and i may have to get the bearings anyway my tranny has 34k on it and not all of them were easy miles, but its still holding strong so far all but that 4th gear syncro. thanks for the intel.

i was wondering what kind of aggreement you all could have with a guy in hawaii on either me try to find another trans and then shipping it to you guys so i can have the RA set installed + seals or charge me extra then refund so that i don't try to keep an extra trans. Also what do you think shipping to 96860 would be like?

OH, one more Q: What else will I need to install in my car? I currently have a MY04 WRX engine and a MY00 RS transmission. Final drive is currently 4.11

I'm guessing a different clutch (pull vs. pull) but what else?

I'll probably have you put together an entire package for me... come on, taxes! :D

mpaone - It's pretty much a straight bolt-on. I have not heard of putting a different clutch on.

The 2nd option is installed in the car. The synchros and bearings are $255 per set. Install takes a few days.

It depends on which package you purchase from us.
