Kinda stupid question, but its been buggin me since I got my UTEC (not installed yet). Does EM (reflash, ecu, etc.) change the sound of your car? Like with timing adjustments and everything done, does the volume or tone of your engine sound any different?

No. Now if you use the anit-lag feature of the UTEC, that's another story. ;)

Waitaminute. I hope that was a joke. Could it really be programed to dump fuel between shifts to act as ant-lag? :confused: I know that is a "poor man's anti-lag" method, but can the utec really do that?


Edit: I just realized, were you refering to using launch control function in between shifts?

launch control = some form of anti lag. I used to sit at the line with ~12psi waiting in the manifold to launch. :devil:

On your real question, EM doesn't change the sound at all (unless you're knocking like crazy ;)).
