I hate saying it... but RTFM. Jorge (RiftsWRX) www.ProjectWRX.com hippy 12-07-2004, 09:31 AM One is the flash switch for upraging the utecs firmware, and one's to remove the fuel cut. RTFM=read the frickin manual. peace big_adventure 12-07-2004, 09:34 AM Well, I don't want to be an ass, but if the UTEC manual was unclear to you about the reflash switch and the fuel-cut switch, maybe you should think about having a pro tune the car or perhaps call: a) TXS or b) The person that sold the UTEC to you, for more advice on UTEC use. Anyway, one of the switches must be flipped to load a new flash image. It does NOT have to be flipped to load a map. The other switch is the hardware fuel-cut defender. It completely disables the overboost fuel cut. This is something you usually don't need if you are running version 4.x of UTEC code with OLF turned on. -Sean cronic 12-07-2004, 09:34 AM One is the flash switch for upraging the utecs firmware, and one's to remove the fuel cut. With the sti, if the fuel cut's hit the ecu turns the fuel pump off which causes a leaning condition(from what I've heard). If you're plannin on running a lot of boost(over 20.5psi or whatever the utec's fuel cut is set at), it would probably be best to flip the fuel cut switch to disable the fuel cut, and use the fuel cut on the olf parameters. I'm pretty sure that's possible(and would work well), but as always this is just my opinion from what I've seen/heard and I'm no expert. peace |
