Has anyone had to get a USB adapter for their AP? In the manual it says that they suggest vendors: Belkin and Keyspan. But Cobb doesn't endorse functionality w/ such products.

After attempting a search on NASIOC, i only came up w/ UTEC and LINK users who have had to use USB adapters.

i dont want to load a map and try configuring my ECU and have my car shutdown due to improper transfers of data.

Labtop doesn't have the serial port required? What to do?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Well, if it says which company to use in the aP manual, go with one of those companies. You shouldnt have any problems flashing your ecu unless you battery is super low.

Keep us posted,

I got one at Radioshack. I have had no problems with the map I downloaded and flashed to my ecu.

Just picked up a Belkin last night. I'm not sure if it's the standard AP to computer load time but things seem to move slower than I thought they would. Everything works fine though, so I think it's just the size of the map that determines how long it takes to swap maps around. I wasn't expecting the $50 price tag on the thing though

I used one as well. I don't even know what brand it is (I can check) but it worked fine. Mine was like $30-40 or thereabouts. I too was surprised at the cost.
