The lower grill area is my main concern.. mind you i do not have any other aerodynamic enhancements(read body kit) I simply want bangin ass yellow fog lights for snowwy situations.

I have a setup in mind that would allow dissassembly between use.. :D

thanks for your quick reply :D

try looking in here if you want lighting ideas. ( http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=673117 )

Like I said, mine are in the lower opening and I have never noticed anything different.

As long as the lights aren't really close to the radiator (like closer than 1 inch), you shouldn't have any trouble at all.

As for the lamps, you practically need to have the lower opening sealed off to reduce airflow. As long as there is room for the air to flow around the lamp you'll have plenty of cooling. Besides, the upper grill will still be unblocked and if you're really worried, you can throw on a radiator shroud such as the one from speedmonkee.com which will help with directing air through the radiator.

Here's mine and i have no problems with engine temps:

 Jeebas son. I hope the draw from all the lights doesn't cook your alternator.

The license plate holes are only to prevent vibration. The screws bear no weight from the bracket or lamps. The upper bracket is actually mounted to the two top bolts holding the radiator brackets and the two bolts from the hood latch.

As for the alternator, it's doing just dandy. All the bulbs are standard 55w. It's only about 330w being used. I know one guy who only has 4 extra lamps, but runs 130w bulbs in each lamp for a total of 520w and he has no problems. :)

I went and measured out the hella Amber 500's... working on bracketing them right now.. I bought some of that flexible steel roding to allow my to generate the angles need to allow for the proper settup.

to those who own these 500's.. would i be ok allowing the brackets to be at a 90 degree angle.? for my "quick swap out" setup . when i was checking them out today i could not tell how much GIVE the mounting brackets allowed.. do they swivell in a complete 180* loop?

id rather Mount them like this = -( than like this _(

where are you mouting them?

mounting them like this will allow the most adjustment

I ended up mounting them like

You guys are really great help. I really appretiate all the input even though I am being Cryptic as hell :D

I'll Post Pics after my cars finished within the next few weeks.

Any one know where i can get male female 3 wire quick connectors that i can use to wire these up to my exisisting fog switch? I am planning un running a dedicated relay and 12 guage wire from power and then running the switch connection off the fog power line.

Quick disconnect to me means. Bad weather on, good weather off. can hardly wait.

Radio Shack should have something like that, maybe even a local Autoparts store. I think I probably got them at Fry's.

Don't forget to post up your set up in The Ultimate Aux Lighting... thread (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=673117)
