So I know you can change the color of the radio and hvac lights by just putting a new color condom over the light. Is there a similar mod for the gauge cluster?

some high temp spray paint from home depo.
I did this 2 months ago and there still red. like this :mad:
The goog thing about the paint is that you can choose between 6 or more colors, and it is easy to change color. When the bulbs are hot or warm you can scrape the paint off.

For the gauge cluster, if its the center gauge for vac. oil temp ....
I dont know but if is the odom, tach gauge there are 2 things you can do

1: Try to scrape off the green film on the back, without breaking the needle
I have heard that this will he difficult, but cheap. Color may be off though.

2: Buy a STI gauge cluster for 500$.
Even more from a dealership as the parts will be seperate. (some of them)

I though about doing #1 but I didnt want to mess with the speed&tach
needles, They are easy to break or mess up.

As for #2 I would rather spend 500 toward a exhaust

#1 Somewhat difficult to do..... I managed and got all the green scraped off the back of mine. But I messed the needles up ( :mad: ). So if you want a '04 cluster that is already red, I've got one, but it will have to be recalibrated if possible.

#2 That's what I did after I messed up my regular WRX cluster. The STi cluster is soooo much nicer and well worth the money spent.

It's just hard to get the stock WRX cluster to look good in another color unless you solder in led's.

Used JDM cluster is about $250, tach is in middle and has a programmable shift light. Same color though. Well depends if it is ver 7 or ver 8.

My cluster has actual blue faces with bright freakin red needles.
